Also its not much of a home game for you guys if you do play the Griz.

This is not reality. This statement was proven false this year. Just a few weeks ago. Do you not remember that?

This is a great draw for EWU. We're on opposite side of bracket as NDSU and Nova. We have a bye and home field until the quarters at least. Oh and we get Montana (likely) in our first game. Grizzlies have never won on the red turf. Grizzlies have only twice in four years beaten a Big Sky team with a winning record (both of those times being MSU). And Beau Baldwin owns Montana.

So yeah.. this works for us.

The only other draw this good in the second would have been Chattanooga. In either case the Griz are very familiar with the venue. Oh, and I wouldn't add the photo of the inferno - it kind of deflates the mystique to see the whole thing.

Montana is a tough draw for EWU, but Eastern has proven they can beat UM, so its not a bad draw by any means. Two weeks to prepare for the Griz, Eastern will be at full strength for the first time all year, and its a game Eastern feels they should have won by a lot more a couple weeks ago. In my opinion, having SELA, UNI, or SHSU would have been worse for a 2nd round draw than the Griz. On top of that, the Griz haven't been the best road team this year...

Also, of the top two seeds, the EWU/Griz side has the best draw in the semi's, but probably the toughest in the Qtrs. Ill St/UNI will be tough regardless but going to UNH is a lot easier than Fargo...

As far as fans at the EWU game. Highly doubt that there will be extra seating brought in for this game. Considering season ticket holders get first dibs on their season tickets and an extra set before any are released to the public next week means there won't be nearly the number of Griz fans as usual.

The team that the Griz are now looks to be completely different from the one that played in Cheney 3 weeks ago. Everything is starting to click, especially now that the offense has gone to the spread. Yeah it's only been one game, but every other time we've gone to the spread this season when we were in panic mode, we marched down the field and scored just about every single time. I think there's a good chance that if the Griz meet EWU in the 2nd round, the Griz come away with a win.
Exactly
If Jordy gets to do his thing like he wants then we are certainly more dynamic
and better balanced on offense.
Defenses against offenses we have the edge.

I'm not thinking from a standpoint of how you feel about this side of the bracket; I was talking specific to Southland teams playing each other, MVC teams playing each other, and Big sky teams playing each other.

I'd much rather see the conferences play each other. It seems like that is the point of having a playoff system. Instead, the NCAA is moving toward having conference championship games as first and second rounders (or in some cases rematches of conference championships).

I think its a good draw for the Griz...get by San Diego...and I like our chances to beat EWU, I think the Griz have a better shot at beating EWU than any other team coming to Cheney, mainly because the whole BSC rivalry and familiarity. Also its not much of a home game for you guys if you do play the Griz. I think if I'm EWU I'm pissed about this draw...the last team they want to play coming off a first round bye is their bitter rival and equally talented Montana team...hard to beat any team 2x in a year, specially the Griz. If that scenario does play out..Missoula could possibly host a quarterfinal game at home against UNI or SFA....if youre the Griz I don't think you can ask for much more after our regular season...how do the EWU fans feel about it?

Poeple who say it is tough to beat a team twice in one year just lost. I see it as a chance to beat a team twice in the same year.

I would like to see teams travel too. Perhaps cost is a factor. We have drawn a lot of playoff teams from throughout the county over the years and it's cool to play those teams. Perhaps with cost as a factor we will see more regionalism in the playoffs. Other than playing the cats in the playoffs, I would really rather play out of conference games.

Ya you're right..teams beat a Montana program twice in a year all the time...the fact of the matter is...EWUs fans are hiding the fact that they are scared shitless of having to play the Griz again...any other team probably not worried, but the Griz in Cheney for the second time...everyone knows will be a problem....the only thing that will be better than beating you on the inferno in the playoffs will be stealing your coach after the season you high school program havin bitch.

I find it both hilarious and sad how concerned griz fans are about making up a narrative that EWU is "scared". You are all very infatuated with creating your own reality about how EWU fans are feeling. Inferiority complex much....

So is your pathetic high school going to bring in extra seats so the Griz faithful can make the atmosphere somewhat respectable for ESPN?

"quick, I can't think of anything to say about EWU's team, their superior athletes or their current domination of the Big Sky conference, I guess I'll make a comment about their stadium". - badlands guy and most every other egrizzer

Cue the small bathroom comments next.

Geez, seems like you griz fans are more interested in architecture, aesthetics and attendance numbers than you are about actual football results.

No were just not full of shit and desperately grasping on to our pride to hide the insecurities of being a fan of a dog shit program that has had 5 good years. If the roles were reversed I'd say the same thing....If the Griz had beat the same Eastern team this yr...I know for a fact the last team I would want to see in the 2nd round in Missoula would be Eastern...beating a division rival is tough as hell anytime you play them.

clawman: I am aware that this has nothing to do with football, but I would assume that you would like to quote things correctly. I'm thinking that the quote at the bottom of your page :
""My fellow Americans, think not what your country can do for you, think what can you do for your country" -- John F Kennedy"--- is incorrect.""
As I remember it, and the only way I have been able to find it quoted is : ""My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." - John F. Kennedy""

I suppose maybe it's different for Western FCS teams that have to jump on a plane to go anywhere... I just hate seeing inter conference matchups in playoffs. I get sick of always seeing Eastern (or Montana, or Montana State, or anyone else making it in) playing the same few teams every year. We find out every year how the Big Sky stacks up against the MVC and Southland, because the NCAA keeps putting those together in the brackets... How about sending the Big Sky to the CAA or Big South? Those seem to be much more appealing matchups than the same old- same old.
