QB- Good Brady/Bad Brady, I've been guilty of putting Blame on Brady. Against SUU I noticed several definite hand signals between QB and WRs, more definite than in the past. That is probably due to WRs not seeing what BG sees. Thought that was a good coaching adjustment. I also have blamed him for bad footwork at times(lazy feet) causing poor accuracy. SUU game saw slow snaps at times that allowed DL push into pocket prematurely, throwing timing of play off with play action option then go to pass with OL not creating any pocket. OL even when giving ground should steer DL to create pocket.(credit may go to good DL play) With too much wash around his body BG has hung in and done a great job. Mick, made comment that at times he may being trying too hard to make things perfect. SUU coach felt his D got worked over pretty well, and they did. BG has noticeable improvement on short swing pass accuracy.

RBs-They are consistent with pass protection, Jon's been a solid receiver, they are benefitting from BG working the edges.

WRs-More are getting into mix. Some are not reading D correctly. Would like to see Lyons get more touches. JLM is Bob's superstar, that's cool.

OL- Improving. Bob is using more H-back formations to help out.

If BG had hit 2 or 3 of those earlier long passes, I doubt that there would be many complaints. I think he needs to put more air under some of those longer passes.

Was Hovey involved, or on the field? What's happened to him?

Yeah the WRs were getting some separation, Brady was just a little strong on those all day.

Seeing the separation was nice. We've got some real good receivers, that'll be something that they work on this week.

Yup.. BG needs to put more air under the ball and let the WR go make the play.

While throwing the ball with more air under it, I am OK with BG missing long instead of short if he misses at all. The one interception he threw against SUU, was the one that he did not get out in front of his receiver.
Go Griz!

Love the new avatar!

Brady definitely missed some open receivers against SUU. However, I don't expect perfect play...

I am very content with a QB who is:

4th in Yards/game
14th in Passing TD's total(already having a bye week)
35th Passing efficiency
10th in Points responsible for

He has an issue with turnovers which i don't solely blame on him and he seems to probably need to get on a better page with his receivers. Otherwise I am happy. He is a top 10 QB in the FCS right now, whether people want to admit it or not.

This should be like a scrimmage if the offense can get on a roll early, then two and three deep can get some work. The one out route that BG threw early in second quarter went long, but looking at replay OL was pushed into him as he threw, can't blame QB for that one(I did when I was at the game).

I'd rather see Brady overthrow receivers than throw into coverage and get picks. When he gets 400+ passing yards, I'm not gonna complain about anything.

This is my view too. 400 is a ton of yards.

The only complaint I've had the past two games is throwing a dump off pass behind the LOS on third and long and expecting the receiver to do all the work...take a shot downfield and let a receiver make a play.

I think it's coming. The tape the Griz have down right now will force defensive coordinators to account for the short - horizontal passing game. Against SUU we started to see Horner et al. get open in the middle of the field. Next step is opening up the vertical passing game.

We may not see it much this week because the Griz likely won't need it.

True that...single covered WR running seam with DB five yards behind him and no safety in sight, did seem like a better option than a one yard cross into coverage. Than one yard completion to Bingham in earlier games on third and long were head scratchers. Jon did convert short pass on third and long later, but a miss down field would keep the defense honest or PI call possibility.

I think he hurried some throw decisions and didn't step through his progression but he might be a bit unused to having time. Hopefully blocking will continue to improve and he can settle into the pocket. I think he will start to hit the big strikes, the receivers were open.

:thumb: Offense as a whole is staring to become consistent, it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Good time for MVSU then back to conference play.
