Indeed, they are much more comfortable in an uptempo offense. WOW! Terrific ball movement and execution.

And doing it with Hutch in the lineup! :thumb:

That is a positive too. He moves okay for a big, I just wonder how he can do when expected to defend the paint by himself when better teams break the press and traps? Offensively, he does not have to do much on this team.

Yeah, he is lost in the post on offense. If Minot knows they can fluster him into mistakes, it won't get better in conference. He's a defensive cog at this point but I am hopeful for him.

We have a Lustre, MT sighting!

Moral of the story this game - Griz turned up pressure with some trapping, 1-2-2 half court press, Minot couldn't handle it, led to some transition buckets, then we caught fire from outside = no more Minot State, and a walk-away laugher.

The pressure D was the key, once the coaches went to it later in the first half. Until then, it was a close game. Some easy transition baskets, Minot started to get frustrated, and then the shots started to fall. The Griz have alot of quickness and athletes. Rebounding and interior defense against bigger teams is going to be a problem. The Griz have some guys who can shoot. The younger players love to play, are good, are quick, and play pretty good defense. The question is whether the Griz will be able to win tougher games with the pressure defense and smaller line up. When they shoot like they did tonight, from outside, they'll win alot of games.

Did anyone else notice that Bobby Howard (formerly of the Bobcats) was an assistant coach? We were chanting "poor bobcats" in the second half and he laughed and turned red.

Assistant for Minot? That's pretty funny either way.
