Lulz at making fun of the academics side of things when I just read in the Missoulian how the university of montana is basically dying, while Eastern Washington University (and Montana State) are thriving.

Haha! It's soooo cute when you try to mention EWU in the same sentence as UM and MSU. Dude, it's a f***[*] trade school with a football team. Get over it already. Also, it's great that you read the Missoulian. I can't remember the last time I perused the Cheney Weekly Chronicle. Is it still in crayon on construction paper?

a "trade school" with a bigger enrollment and better programs than a state's main research institution

Not too much. It's not as fun when your douchenozzle idiot fans don't pop off on eGriz. Also, after your gun loving QB left, I'm kinda over EWU again. Finally, I'm a long way from CDA, bro.

One thing we can always expect from the C17 is class.

I was visiting a family friends house who happen to live in Cheney. They both have kids that are getting close to deciding on college. I asked them if they are considering staying home and going to EWOO. They both had a good chuckle over that question and then replied that they didn't need another high school diploma. Then I had myself a nice chuckle.

UM is not looking all that great, these days. Declining student enrollment, less funding, layoffs. It is a shadow of its former self.

My degree from EWU has sent me to work at the capitol. I've worked with Governors, Attorneys General and US Senators and Congresspeople. I've worked at the world's largest public relations agency working for clients such as HP, Shell, Kaiser Permanente, Micron and Experian (to name a few.) Now, I'm attending one of the nation's best business schools on scholarship. I don't regret getting my degree from EWU for a second.

Pretty good for a trade school. :twocents:

That all has a lot more to do with you than it does with EWU. Your successes aside (nice humble brag, BTW), there's really no denying that EWU is not a very good school.

Can't that be said about any institution? It is what you make of it? I truly wouldn't trade my time at EWU for anything. I also wouldn't expect any UM grad to say that their school is bad. It's why I've never understood the annual dick measuring contest about academics on a football board...

You're not wrong, but the worse the school, the better the person has to be. Nobody is sitting in a hiring meeting saying, "Well, Ralph, he seemed kind of vanilla, but he went to EWU so at least you know he's smart."

I think maybe you don't understand the dick measuring contest about academics because . . . uh . . . well . . . nevermind.

+1

What's the alternative? A football measuring contest about dicks on an academics board? Count me out.
