Griz Defense Wants to Dominate

“Really what it comes down to is it’s the next team that we really want to go out there and dominate as a defense,” said Montana DT Zach Peevey, a Missoula Hellgate grad. “That’s what we’re looking at, going into their house and start to build that confidence on the road that we can beat any team we face.”

Love the attitude these guys are bringing this year!

Building confidence on the road would be a good place to start, since they're 0-2 on the road and 3-0 at home. Granted the road schedule has been brutal (and that doesn't change much going forward)...

I agree, AZGrizFan.

The defense played well enough to win those two road losses this year, it was the offense that didn't pull their weight and the unit that Griz Nation is holding it's breathe on. :(

I assume the defense will dominate North Dakota.

Yep. I feel a big one coming on from Wags after being held mostly in check on their last trip to the RRV.

I sure hope they want to dominate. If they don't, I would question our chances.

UND has a good Defense (not griz good), but there offense leaves a lot to be desired. They are pretty stubborn with running it up the middle most of the time, although they did open the pass up a bit more in the second half against the Cats and had some success. This game won't be close man. You guys have way too much offense for them to handle.

Good to hear this. 1st Ty Gregorak took it upon himself and his staff to be better. The defensive players have bought into that attitude too. Maybe it is also a sign they know the better the defense does, the better chances of contending for a championship.

Right now, either we need a lights out dominating defense to pick up our offense, or the offense to hold their own weight. The offense can do this, but it will require the play callers to stop being so damn stubborn. Speaking of stubborn and attitude, I love how Dennard, Whitted, and Hermanson are playing in the secondary of late. Those 3 are playing with a little attitude and swagger this season. That has been missing from the secondary the last few years. LB play has been terrific, despite replacing 3 terrific LB's. DL has played well too, especially Wags and Takai. It will be good to see the big man, Takai back against UND.

I'd love to see this defense have a dominating season, and stop even the best offenses, such as EWU.
