GRIZ/CAT WEEK...IT'S HERE!

It's the first Griz/Cat week of basketball season. First off, the Griz are 1-2 in conference play as is Montana State, but seasonwise, the Griz have a better record. Andrew Strait is really been the only one that's been really consistent for the men. I like the fact that Cameron Rundles is starting and is a pest to defenses with his quickness. Matt Martin has worked his way out of a funk after the slump he got himself into in early December.

For the Lady Griz, their game in Bozeman should be a good one because the Lady Cats are a much better team than last year. The Cats split their first two conference games last week while the Lady Griz went 2-for-2 as both teams played Eastern Washington and Portland State. Why the Cats are improved is because of the big nights they're getting from senior guard Alyssa Nelson and reserve senior center Whitney Connolly (to be honest with you, Connolly should be starting with the numbers she's been putting up, but she leads the team in foul outs). The other senior on the team, Scotta Morton, has been a disappointment, no wonder she's on the bench.

In my mind, these games should be a lot of fun to see.

Do they broadcast the Griz/Cat BB games via satellite like the football games?

Stuck in Iowa wondering if I should find a bar to tune in at.

A good game is when the LG win by at least a fifty point margin.

I noticed a while back that Connelly wouldn't be allowed to play against the Griz cause she couldn't handle a Hollie Tyler.

if she cant then neither nubia, krislin will be able to

this years lady cats are undersized

It's too bad that Nubia Garcia has such wobbly knees otherwise she'd be a pretty good one, at least for the BSC. Some of your best forwards defensively do seem undersized in 5' 11" DeHaan, 5' 11" Goodman & 5' 10' Scotta Morton. 6' 3" Whitney Connelly seems more like a finesse type player, not really for the post but more on the wing. She only averages 4.4 RPG while Garcia has 6.6 & 6' 1" Krislyn Wallace leads @ 7.2. Connellys' still a dangerous player off the bench though, sometimes she can lite it up & sometimes nothing. If she was at the 3 position she'd have smaller players guarding her which would present matchup problems. I'am sure glad that Alyssa Nelson & Scotta Morton are seniors, then we don't have to put up with them any more after this year (that's a compliment; grudgingly) from what I would assume as an LG point of view.

the only weakness i can think of in connely is that all of egriz and cat nation can dribble a basketball better then she can. it is getting where i get upset when she tries to drive (it usually ends up with a turnover)

Krislyn Wallace is the Ben Wallace of the Big Sky conference...all D and i get to post smack about who lets her score in the low post...

morton, dehann, and goodman dont recieve crap for P.T., morton is good from 3
