I have just been informed that the only way to get this game this year for those of us out of state will be streaming on ESPN+. I see this as a huge issue for the watch parties. Between smart Tv's being out of synch to limited availability(not all bars have ability to stream to more than a couple Tv's) That could be a huge issue for these parties. Has anyone heard anything different about options to watch it on cable?

Is it that bars are unable to stream more than a few TVs, or just unwilling to do so? Most of the flat screens at a respectable sports bar would be smart TVs. Is it a bandwidth issue?

I think for those of us who attend parties with over 100 people (Seattle, Denver, etc), I'm guessing the bars will find a way to keep those beer-buyers satisfied.

Have you ever attempted to stream to a couple different Tv's at same time? The picture will not be synched up as each TV will be slightly off. A couple seconds can be torturous in a football game. It is really difficult to synch them all up unless they are all hardwired to same device.

Yep. That's a potential issue.

As long as Bars have smart TV's they can stream it and an ESPN+ account.

Yet as I found out last year, not all bars have the ability to stream because of how their TV networks are set up. They'll tell you that they have access to ESPN +, but when you call or inquire you'll have to ask if they can stream on-line only broadcasts. I'll attest that the vast majority of the people you talk to won't have a clue. No less than six bars in San Diego last fall and all them couldn't grasp the difference between ESPN+ and ESPN PPV. Finally I had to settle to beers at a bar while watching the game on my phone. Brint can attest to this string of events that took several beers and several miles walked in search of a bar in San Diego that could stream ESPN+ games.

They don’t even need an account. They just need a TV that you can “cast” the game from your phone or iPad. It’s really that simple.
