Griz basketball as targeted team

I'm looking through the stats for the teams that have beat us. Besides being beaten on the perimeter, the other interesting note is that we are often beaten by players that aren't particularly high scoring threats. My conclusion and subsequent suggestion is that, believe it or not entire teams get up for playing the Griz. We are a target---part of every teams "hit list". We've been to the tourney 2 years in a row and no matter what our story is this year, a win over us is a big deal---- because you can say, "so and so beat Montana Grizzlies, a past 2 year team in the NCAA Tournament..."
Teams come at us hard---bring it all. Coaches are challenging their guys before games to make their mark in this game. Many are doing it and now every team gains confidence in the locker room realizing other teams have already done what their hoping to do... take down a 2X tourney team.

Sorry but I don't think Wyoming, Virginia Tech, W Virginia, Minnesota or Oral Roberts had Montana on their "hit list". Those teams have way bigger fish to fry.

Agreed, Hammer. Most good teams don't hold any Big Sky team in high esteem.

Any team that has a decent coach in division I, II, or III hoops should be coming hard every night regardless of the team that they are playing. Only the gameplan should change, not the desire.

That would be the case in a coach's perfect world but it's really not the case. Even so, I don't think WV was hyped to drub us in Disney World.

With those lines? I'd be hyped to drub anyone in Disney World.
