Griz / B.C. Predictions

i heard an interview with the mouthy bc dude on the radio while driving back to beautiful north utah after the game. he said he's looking forward to playing reno.

While BC is obviously going to be an overwhelming favorite, I really expect this to be a pretty close game. Montana is playing their best ball of the season at the right time.

Craig Smith is an absolute man-child inside. He looks like he's been lifting weights in prison for about 20 years. It sure would be nice to have Seyfert available to put a big body on him and save Strait some fouls. Two keys will be limiting BC's second chances on the offensive glass and forcing Dudley and Smith to pass and make their guards hit shots. A couple things going for the Griz: BC played an intense 2OT game today. Hopefully the thin mountain air and playing in the Mountain time zone will catch up to them in the second half against the Griz. Griz might have a tougher time getting easy buckets inside, but overall the game plan should be similar to Nevada: 2 superstars (Dudley and Smith) might get theirs, but make their role players beat you. Finally, BC lost to a 12 seeded? Wisc-Milwaukee team in the second round last year. Hopefully lightning strikes twice.

Prediction: GRIZ 72 BC 69, Griz pull even a bigger shocker and I get to see them play in person next week in Minneapolis in the Sweet 16.

The battle between Strait and Smith is going to be brutal. As big of a Strait fan as I have become Smith has a lot of experience going for him and will win that duel. If he can get some help from hasquet, dlouhy, and chavez and we can get the guards going we have a shot. The battle in the paint is going to be a great one.

Pacific hit 10 of 25 treys on these guys. The BC fans themselves admit that their perimeter defense is lacking. We need our shooters to step up again.

I cant just jump off and leave the GRIZ in this one I pick the griz 83-80 in regulation!! I dont want to see it end quite yet!

After watching the dominance by the Griz last night, you have to believe that the Griz are not only not going to get blown away, but that they have a hell of good chance to win against BC!!!

Griz 76
BC 71

I can't stand to even turn on the radio to the Boston sports yakkers. So, I won't. I'm usually on NPR anyway.

I won't hazard a score other than to say that whomever the winner is, it should be closer than anybody would've thought.

Maybe someday the two football programs will cross paths?

GO GRIZ!
