Griz at Portland State: Game Thread

Can't have off nights when you're going to get every teams best shot. Attended my first game of the season last night and noticed zero vocal leadership. Leading by example doesn't work - gotta talk. Pridgett is balling but Oguine can't be any less aggressive because others are playing well. He was very passive and I don't think he had a point, rebound, or assist until the second half. Rorie was short on the majority of his shots and Bobby didn't give us anything offensively. I wish we had some more momentum plays on offense OR defense. Our runs were too short and theirs were too long... It was clear PSU had more energy and wanted it more...

All those negatives and we still had a chance to make it a game at the end, which is a good sign! Great atmosphere and a lot of UM fans in attendance. We're obviously missing Akoh but I still think we're good enough to win the tournament. Running out of time to get clicking again tho...

If EWU beats Weber Saturday, and the cats lose to PSU, then the tiebreaker becomes a mystery (at least to me.) :? (Assuming the Griz and NCU both win.)
If that happens WSU, MSU and PSU will be tied for 4th. I believe MSU is first out due to being swept by WSU, since the rest split the series. To determine 4/5 PSU will get that based on Sweeping the Griz while Griz swept WSU. If PSU gets 4th No Colorado gets 1st and regular season crown.

For the Griz to get first they need to win and have MSU beat PSU or WSU beat EWU or No Colorado loses.

Yes. This is correct.

As far as I have been told, this team is rotating four healthy players right now. Oguine and Dorsey are physically compromised based upon what I have been told. Doesn’t ‘excuse’ playing, but it can explain it.

consider the Conference regular season record for head-to-head competition among all of the tied teams. This process is used to break ties between any of the tied teams with any remaining tied teams returning to the process at criteria 1.a. (above). (Example: Teams A, B, C, and D have identical record from a double round robin season. In head-to-head competition Team A emerges with 4-2 record against the other tied teams, team B and Team C have a 3-3 record and team D has a 2-4 record. Teams A and D can be placed in the final standings at that point while teams B and C return to criteria 1.a. If B and C have split their regular Conference season games, they will move to criteria 2. Performance against other teams in descending order.)

UM, EWU, PSU Victories (Means WSU, PSU, MSU tied)
1. UM
2. UNC
3. EWU 12-8
4. WSU 11-9 (3-1 v MSU and PSU)
5. PSU. 11-9 (2-2 v MSU, WSU)
6. MSU 11-9 (1-3 v. WSU, PSU)

If I understand the tie breaking rules, it is head to head among the group before they go to descending order. If UM wins I think most tie breaker rules break in their favor product of the 2-0 finish over MSU and WSU. WSU’s two wins against MSU looms large here I think)

I have been told there are a couple issues with oguine, and Dorsey is back related I believe.
