This is what I hate about pre-season "slotting". We demolish UND 55-17, SDSU escapes from the exact same team by a TD and yet, because of where we/they were slotted before games began, they are ranked above us in the polls...

It'll all level out by the end of the season...just keep winning games! Let's let everyone else keep thinking that MSU and EWU (while both very good teams) are the teams to beat out of the Big Sky

Agreed...no polls until a quarter of the season is over with.

While I agree in principle, that's just :dead:

Besides, it gives us something to crow/bitch about, other than certain lame video, etc.

That's why I toss in my prediction (guesses) thread. In fact, I just compared my guesses to the actual poll. With one exception, I hit the top fifteen on the nose or within 1 slot. I did not really think the pollsters would ding the kitties, but they did -- so my #2 and #3 were reversed.

I did hit two of the #16-#25 teams on the nose, but not so good on the rest. Except for #25, I had the teams right, but was further off on the exact rank. For #25, I guessed that the pollsters would drop NAU and cut Youngstown State some slack because they lost to a pretty decent Michigan State (3-0) team, which just missed getting into the FBS Top-25. Oh well.

The one exception in the top fifteen was Wofford, which I predicted would go to #12 and they got bumped to #10. Can’t really quibble with that.

My big miss was Stony Brook, which moved up, whereas I moved them down -- not sure what the Hell I was thinking. I also missed big on Bethune-Cookman, which I thought would get up to #15 and they only made it to #19. I know FIU is a not very good FBS team, but it was a legit upset and B-C is undefeated. (Of course, they play Florida State next, so that’s about to end.)

I did get the two newcomers to the top-25 right. However, they gave Fordham a bit more love than I expected (#21 vs my guess of #24), and UT-Martin less (just the reverse ... #24 vs #21).

Remember these polls have no bearing on the seeding for the playoffs...things will all work out as they should. Everybody needs to relax.

Should be 8. A few teams "Ahead" of UM are not in reality "Ahead" of jack shit IMO (MSU, SDSU).

Wont matter though in the long run though.
