Just an oversight, I’m sure.

His play on film and his attitude reminds me of a pretty decent transfer we had from OK on the O Line one time. Hope to see the same results on the field.

Love it! I have a feeling he's going to be pushing for a starting spot right away, just what we needed; depth, experience, attitude. Can't wait to see this young man put some defenders on their a**es!

Go Griz!

That’s because Brint and a lot of us need to see how he fits in and plays at this level. Juco transfers are fickle. He’s only played at DII and juco level. I think he’ll be in the mix but not ready to announce him the next greatest thing until I see him more.

I really believe the J.C. route is a strong indicator over say Dii.....they are men with a high upside coming out of j.c. school.....i believe both Pillans and Mallory will be starting by conference time as they have that full grown man attitude that has been missing....i hope the other guys in the o/l are learning and practice that way too.....we were a long way from that last year imo....

I'm reserving judgment until after PR quits his petty bickering over on another thread and gives us some "evidence" on this guy. So far....he's not pleasured us with a long drawn out post about his old buddy JD's new career and pretty wife who his second cousin's friend's daughter went to college with. I'm anxious to see if his "evidence" on Mallory will include a comparison with JD.

Once PR weighs in we'll know exactly what this guy has.

Generally it's NOT a good idea to come in from the outside and adopt the attitude that you're coming in to shape things up and lead the O Line, but who knows... it may work in this case. Maybe there is a serious lack of leadership with the existing players.

This worried me instantly as well. If the coaches really did tell him those things... that’s not good. Either way...him publicly saying that he’s here to tech the OL how to be an OL and how to be tough...is not going to sit well with other OL guys. Lead by example not by vocals. Maybe he will do that and get their buy in but I’m guess he’s not going to be a fan favorite in the locker room day 1. But hey...neither was sneed

So you're also saying he should not be in the discussion.

You must have a lot of time on your hands. Leopards can't change their spots.

He never said he was going to "shape things up," or, "teach the OL how to be an OL and how to be tough." He said,

“They wanted to bring me in as a leadership role and come in and take charge of the O-line and get things rolling and really come together as a group. Without the O-line, the team doesn’t move, so they wanted me to come in and fill that leadership spot and just do what a true O-lineman should do. I’m a guy that if my teammates aren’t going, I’m going to get them to where we need to be. I’m going to hold them accountable as well as I want them to hold me accountable. It’s on the field and off the field, doing the little things right. If that happens, I know we can win a Big Sky championship.”

I understand why you may feel the way you do after initially reading the story, but I don't see it. Obviously it is implied that the O-line or any group needs help when they bring in a transfer. The current players know this and are resilient enough to accept the new guy, or they aren't and leave.

Watched lots of his HUDL tape and he appears more than capable of run blocking. Locks up on his guy, good leg drive and buries them. Not sure at all about his pass blocking as none of it shows on tape. OL coaches are gonna have to see what he has there... Hope he is not a one block pony because he has the makings of a sound OL candidate.
