Great question.

We’re really not far from the FCS being one conference with East (MVFC) and West (Big Sky) Divisions that hold a Conference Championship Game in Frisco.
 
The fact that the power in the diluted FCS is now concentrated in the west just goes to show how much harder it is for western FCS teams to make the jump to FBS.
