I love that we have such a rich, prideful tradition that we (As fans) expect to win every single game. That is a very good problem to have. But, at the same time, we gotta be realistic.
We just played a very, very good team and they beat us.....in their house. We made some plays, and they made more. They are the #3 team in the country for a reason. They are actually ranked low IMO. They have a better resume and much better strength of schedule than Sam Houston or Jack St and probably could just as easily be the #1 ranked team.
They have the best offense in FCS and the most dangerous trio of receivers in all of FCS, and actually probably better than many FBS teams. Their QB already owns 6 out of 10 EWU QB records, and that is following up people like BLM and Vernon Adams.
Everyone I talked to, I said I expect the Griz to compete and play well but they probably won't win. Just too young and not the same talent level as EWU. Of course I want these guys to win every single game, but that's not realistic. That's not realistic for any team, including NDSU and Alabama. Sometimes you get best by a better team. That's what happened today. No reason to jump off a cliff over it. I'll be there Saturday to cheer them on while they start their 3 wins in a row to secure a playoff bid.
