Gotta be Realistic

I love that we have such a rich, prideful tradition that we (As fans) expect to win every single game. That is a very good problem to have. But, at the same time, we gotta be realistic.

We just played a very, very good team and they beat us.....in their house. We made some plays, and they made more. They are the #3 team in the country for a reason. They are actually ranked low IMO. They have a better resume and much better strength of schedule than Sam Houston or Jack St and probably could just as easily be the #1 ranked team.

They have the best offense in FCS and the most dangerous trio of receivers in all of FCS, and actually probably better than many FBS teams. Their QB already owns 6 out of 10 EWU QB records, and that is following up people like BLM and Vernon Adams.

Everyone I talked to, I said I expect the Griz to compete and play well but they probably won't win. Just too young and not the same talent level as EWU. Of course I want these guys to win every single game, but that's not realistic. That's not realistic for any team, including NDSU and Alabama. Sometimes you get best by a better team. That's what happened today. No reason to jump off a cliff over it. I'll be there Saturday to cheer them on while they start their 3 wins in a row to secure a playoff bid.

Sure. I'd agree but you'd still want a better effort against Eastern. The final three games are against weak opponents. Are you saying those wins are significant?

I look forward to the next 3 games. Eastern is going to make a deep run this year. I hope we don't overlook any of our 3 remaining opponents. We can't come out flat when we play on the road at Northern Colorado.

MODS!!!

This is far too reasonable a post on egriz following a loss. I propose a two week band!!

Well, Montana is now in 8th place in the Big Sky and one of the teams above them seems a pretty good offensive high scoring team the Griz play on the road..

You really think EWU has a better resume than NDSU?

No team has a better resume than NDSU. 5 straight titles and 7-1 with that schedule? Fuck no comparison.

Where does it say that Hemingway?

Realistic-

Stitt is only in year 2
GRIZ are still short of scholarships
Thanks to Engstrom, other teams in the Big Sky have caught up to the GRIZ.
The GRIZ still have a mix of Delaney and Stitt guys. We are still 2 years from this team being completely Stitt's team.
It takes time to know what buttons to push and when with all the damn turmoil this program has been put through in recent years.
The GRIZ have the best damn football environment in all of the FCS, and one of the best in all of college football.
Many of our fans are passionate and impatient.
Some of our fans, are clueless as to the nuances and challenges of building a program. It takes time when a coach is changing an offense, defense, coaches, and personnel!
How about giving credit to more BSC schools stepping it up, on the field? Was it not several years ago when some fans were bitching about how weak this conference was, and it would be nice to have more competition? (Be careful what you wish for)
The talent Stitt and his staff have brought in are still young. They need time to mature!
It is way too early to get rid of Stitt. Recycling coaches and systems is not the way to return to dominance.
The GRIZ are not a bad team. We fans are just too damn spoiled from the dominance the GRIZ once had.

Honestly, can we try to tone down our shitty ass attitudes as a fan base? How about enjoying how great it is to be part of one of the GREATEST fan bases in the nation? Some of you really do make that very difficult. Most importantly, show some damn respect for the GRIZ coaches and players who bust their ass 365 days a year to appease this fan base!!!!

Couldn't agree more. Grow the fuck up, people. These kids are leaving their hearts, souls and body parts out there for your entertainment....have some class.

You just got to grow up and not live in a reality distortion field, when coach Stitt gets all his own athletes in place, you will witness reality, that being mediocrity, after all, he does have a record of mediocrity.

Arriving in the FCS is not going to change his nuances of an offense, only complicated them with facing better coaching.
