Here is a good story that was in the Tribune today about the Caldwell family. Phil was a great ref when I was playing, and his son Tony was one of the best athletes I can ever remember watching. 3 generations of referees in Montana.

You always knew it was a big game if Phil was reffing it.

That's a cool article. When I was a snot-nosed, wet-behind-the-ear freshman in h.s., I went down to a Jack Johnson football camp, and I was nervous as ever, and it was Tony and CMR qb Art West (?) that took me under their wing and helped me learn to run the option. They didn't have to, but it always stuck in my memory that they would do such a thing.

I went to Jack's camp 2 years. I always wondered how he was such a good football coach, as he obviously knew nothing about athletes. He told my coach that I had "pretty good wheels".

But yeah, Tony was always there helping.
