Good Luck Derek

Vince Huntsberger wore 47....won a prestigious academic award ( and dominated for the griz...my personal favorite player)so there is some precedent in outstanding players/scholars wearing 47

And Vince, another small-town (Libby) Montana native went on to medical school and is an emergency room physician in Sandpoint, Idaho. :thumb:

Two wins this weekend Derek, you and the Griz.
Griz nation could not be prouder.

I agree! Montana is proud. This is a fine young man who deserves this great honor.

His teammates will take of business in Bozo and we can have a very unusual first, a Rhoades Scholar busting chops in the playoffs. Go Griz! Go Derek!

DC, you are an amazing example of "THE STUDENT ATHELETE"! Student first and athlete second. None of us fans will truly know how hard you have worked at these two passions. May the Lord bless you with safe travels and wisdom in your interview. Go Griz!!

If he does win the RS, do you think they would have enough class to announce that in Bozeman during the game?
Ahh, what the hell was I thinking anyway...

Seriously, congrats Derek!

I honestly hope they do if they get word during the game. I don't care what colors you wear that day, Mr. Crittenden makes the State of Montana proud! And I would hope EVERYONE wearing blue and gold that day would give him a standing ovation. I know I would.

It's in the bag. DC will represent like a GRIZ!

Congratulations, Derek. A truly remarkable accomplishment.

(and I like the #47 idea).

Just know, Derek, that there are thousands with you today - not just the ones you're hearing from! We're with you all the way!

You know, he did say in that TV piece that it was POSSIBLE he could interview on Friday and POSSIBLY make the game . . . but he didn't want to ask for any special treatment.

Not likely, I'm sure - even if he is finished today, there may be some event tomorrow for those selected and how could they not pick him?? He is just exceptional.

Best of luck, Derek - you got this. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Crittenden could draw an interview slot on Friday rather than Saturday and jet to Bozeman in time for the noon kickoff. But should the committee's deliberations require a re-interview and a candidate is no longer present, is the early exit worth it?

I know that both Derek and the coaches are hopeful that he can make it back to bozo for the game tomorrow. Obviously the interview and results are the priority. Best of luck to Derek! He is a wonderful young man. There could not be a better ambassador for Griz football, UM and the State of Montana than Derek. Hopefully he makes it back for the game, but if not, the Griz are in good hands with Ryan Johnson in his stead with hopes of seeing Derek back on the field at Wa-Griz stadium next week for a first round playoff game while the cats enjoy their turkey at home, as is tradition.
