Wow, that was one of the most amazing sports moments I’ve ever witnessed first-hand. I think I’m still in shock a little bit. Going to be hard to find any bad or ugly after a win like that, but here goes:
Good
- here’s a stat for you...Montana is the first non-FBS team to hold a Pac12 team under 10 points since 1985
- defense, defense, defense
- only gave up 65 yards rushing on 27 carries allowing only 2.4 ypc
- only gave up 291 yards total!
- +3 in TO margin!
- Xavier Harris had 15 carries for 70 yards (4.7 ypc)
- Child’s was 9 for 39 (4.3)
- Sulser flipping the field on a couple punts
- Marcus Welnel...wow.....12 tackles and game ending pick
- Robertson with 2 picks
- buschini averaged 47 yards per punt over 7 punts. Long of 58
- only allowed 4-14 third down conversions
Bad
- too many penalties or phantom penalties. 7 for 81 yards, that could have hurt.
- some missed tackles early
- couple guys nicked up
Ugly
- the #20 team in FBS losing on their home field and having to pay 675k to us in the process
Go Griz!
