Good, Bad, Ugly - ISU

Good:
- Chad freaking Chalich coming out like his hair was on fire. 22-27 for 388 yds, 7 TDs. On fire. He extended plays with his feet and made some great throws.
- Griz offense putting up 60+.... for the third time this year
- JLM running down that ball that I swore was uncatchable. His 10 yard gain where he ran 98 yds was a thing of beauty as well.
- kidder batting down balls and getting to the QB and RB in the backfield.
- Griz taking advantage of getting in points just before half.
- Keenan Curran had his best game as a Griz. Some awesome catches, 4 TDs, and some great blocking on perimeter
- Justin Calhoun is going to be a future all big Sky player. Just awesome.
- Johnny nyugen juked and cut his way to a great day
- Stitt finally putting in Purdy to kick PATs. He looked great. The one he missed was a bad high snap

Bad:
- the FBS secondary we have looking like they haven't played a game of organized football before
- the missed tackles by LBs and secondary. Seriously that was hard to watch.
- is there a reason we can't return a kick to the 25 yard line?
- the # of wide open receivers all night long. I think I could have had 10 receptions for 100 tonight. How can these guys be soooooo wide open. That was tough to watch all night.

Ugly:
- giving up huge chunks of yardage
- scoring 41 in one half, and letting the other team still be in the game
- the replay booth giving that RB a TD after he fumbled to himself and stepped out of bounds in the process. Seriously why even have replay if you don't use it to make the correct call

A win is a win, even though this one felt ugly. Onto NoCo next week. If the secondary doesn't show massive improvement, the Griz will be in huge trouble.

I have no idea what's going on with the defense, but they seem to be getting worse as the year progresses. Quit trying to strip the damn ball all the time and make a freaking tackle! And don't even get me started on the secondary....good lord. I was very excited to see what Semore's defense would be like this year. So far, not real impressed.

- And Despite getting held/tackled nearly every play, kidder is an impact player via batting down balls and getting to the QB and RB in the backfield.

fixed it for you - good post.

Some one needs to clarify the rule on the ISU fumble/TD. I know the only one who can advance a fumble is the guy who fumbled. However, there's is more to the step out of bounds rule. Something about reestablishing himself on the field of play. I'm not sure what that entails. He did take two or three steps in bounds before he picked the ball back up.

+1. Offensive coaches have enough film on his defense now (unlike early season when it was doing well). We might "See More" losses coming with this defense than people think.

Offense put up points against the 11th-ranked scoring Defense in the BSC, and lost points all over the place to the 12th-ranked scoring Offense. Couldn't tell if ISU looked better than expected on offense, or our defense just let them walk all over the place. It is possible that ISU finally found the bottom and is fighting their way back up.

I believe that you just can't run out of bounds and then come back in bounds and participate in the play. I think there is a concept of reestablishing yourself after you have been forced out of bounds. I may be mixing college and NFL rules. Would be interested in seeing the definitive word on this.
