Good:
- the defense gave them every chance to win this game. Held them to 18 points under their average, had 5 sacks, 2 picks
- X-man continues to run the ball well getting 18 carries for 127 averaging 6.9 ypc
- Elwell starting to emerge as a TE receiving threat catching his second TD in as many games
- cam had some good tuck and runs to pick up some key yards and first downs
- Buschini continues to be one of the best weapons we have with 6 more punts averaging 46 yards per
- Malik flowers, wow another kick return for TD. He has 5 now (already) which ties him for the Big Sky career lead. He is one away from the all time FCS lead of 6
- Jace Lewis was a beast…..had 10 tackles, 2.5 TFL, and 1 sack, 2 QB hurries
- Welnel put up big numbers too with 9 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 1 pick
Bad:
- our O line didn’t seem to get a ton of push. We averaged 4.8 ypc so hard to give them too much grief but it seemed like it was 2nd and 10 all night long or 3rd and long
- gave up 3 sacks
- cam struggled in this one, throwing two picks in the 4th quarter that really hurt
- we were 3 of 5 in the Red Zone….they were 6-6
- blocked FG was gross
- how much we actually miss Marcus Knight….a 1-2 punch of Knight and Harris is a whole different beast
Ugly:
- cam and sulser with what appear to be serious injuries
- giving up 235 yards to one receiver
- giving up 4 of 5 4th down conversions to ewu.
- the PI call giving ewu another chance at 2 pt conversion….that was a shit call.
At the end of the day, we are 3-1 which is exactly where I hoped we would be at this point…..we just took a different path to get there. We should have a decent stretch of winnable games. Time to regroup and go on a run.
