Going to sa this and it hurts

UM is back to what’s was in the ‘70’s. Most Missoula kids go to MSU. MSU playmakers are Missoula kids. Griz students are really just drunks. Griz football teams is really talented but rarely beat the cats. Strange how history repeats itself
Aside from a couple of teams in the early 70's I don't remember the griz having talent like this team has. The students were mostly pot heads, hippies and witches. Not really drunks but you are correct about the in state recruiting. The 70's were great days and I'd go back to them in a heartbeat.

The cat students I interacted with couldn’t even fucking stand. There was one or two that were actually super fun to talk to, but some of them were drunk off their ass. Can’t call UM students drunks when MSU is known for its DUIs and their students drink just as much if not more.

Speaking of drunk, did you actually read the title of your post? Let’s keep things in perspective. The Griz are not miserable and failing. They are close and failing. This team seems like Frankenstein right now. Phenomenal parts and yet, they can’t put it all together. MSU seems like they are putting the right parts they need in place and the right positions. Let’s be clear about one thing. MSU won because the Griz defense couldn’t stop them. When they did, it was because of a dropped pass and another series where they played good D. The offense then laid and egg with an interception. Bobby 1.0 would have ran the ball right down their throat instead of even attempting a pass on their own 20 yard line.

I’m thinking this was alcohol and despair talking. Hopefully you feel differently this morning. How many of those teams were 11-1? Lost a game by a play or two. Would you rather have Eli or Jones? Oh, and even if Crews wasn’t booted, do you really think he would be a starter? He doesn’t start for the cats. The cats haven’t won a championship. We were in the championship game two seasons ago. Let’s not act like they are at an entirely different level.

Correct. Defense could not stop them when it mattered and it wasn’t due to a poor secondary like so many thought it would be. Lost up front and not being able to keep the QB from running. As for Bobby 1.0 he would have stopped them but the Griz would have had multiple Montana kids that were highly recruited in high school because they chose Griz over Cats now they are on the wrong team year in and year out and… Bobby 2.0 is now officially 2-7 against the cats and that includes a wholesale coaching staff change at MSU during this 2.0 experience. 9 years, can’t blame Stitt anymore Bobby has brought team back to being top tier in FCS but has not been able to surpass the cats. Looking at commits in Montana high schools so far it is evident another year of losing to them in that battle as well. People say STEM degrees blah blah but talk to some cat families about the difference in recruiting the got from both programs and how they felt interacting with both programs and you will see a trend. Fix that and in about 4 more years we could be top program in Montana yea in and year out but don’t fix it and you are just setting up for no change in the rivalry

I am typically one of Bobby’s harsher critics on here, and I do generally agree with you on a lot here. But I do think he demonstrated some ability to adapt this season with how he managed the QB position, and the playcalling was been much better as well….i think Wortham and Gillman were utilized really well this year, especially in contrast to Bergens mismanagement.

However, it’s all relative. The flipside is that the cats have back to back conference titles, which is especially impressive considering this Vigens first year without Tommy, which shows Vigens capabilities to continually push the program forward despite losses to graduation/portal.

The last griz head coach to win in Bozeman is Bob Stitt….let that sink in. Vigen and Choate both won in Missoula.

We played arguably our best, most complete gsme of the year yesterday, at home, and it still wasn’t enough….how bad does it go if we played like we did against Eastern, or Idaho state?

There was some good stuff this year, but the other side of the coin is still there, and it’s still not pretty.
