AZ, just keep your speculation to yourself. Marquin made the decision he felt was best for him...end of story.

Please keep your speculation to yourself as well. Marquin may have made the decision he felt was worst for him.

Marquin did not leave because his heart wasn't in it. Without going into details that are no ones business, family comes first. End of story.

Soooo RobGriz doesn't know WTF hes talking about?
Never said he left to spend more time with his family, I said he left for family reasons. Not sure how joining the military somehow contradicts that, but it's your story so run with it. I don't know what lead to his decision to join the military other than his dad is career military but I do know why he told us he was leaving. I have no reason to believe he wasn't being truthful. That being said the situation might be totally different now than it was 4 months ago. Ya think?

He never has, why the surprise?
Weak, even by your relatively low standards.

Interesting. That tells me that his heart wasn't into football...because he surely didn't join the military to be closer to his family.

I don't know Russell or any details of the situation, but the Military has become a good option for some kids. With a year of college under his belt, he will likely move up quicker and he can advance his degee with tuition assistance or the GI bill. I have friend who went in as an airman and is retiring this summer as a major from the air force. He was able to get his masters while in the service. Also, the military health benefits come in very handy for a young man who may have a girlfriend who may become his wife and needs a doctor if she is pregnant. I am not saying this is the case because I don't know Russels, but living in Great Falls with the base here, I have seen a literally hundreds of times.

I'm very familiar, having done 22 years as a Naval Officer. If it wasn't about "heart", then the decision must have been about money. Because you surely don't join the military to spend more time with your family.
Is that you, mister? Oh, I've been looking for you!

One of my favorite movies. EVER.

Marquin Russell is gone ... just wish him well and consider that he'll be cheering for The Griz from parts of the world.

Who knows, if he gets out within 4 years, he may return to The Griz.

Uh, didn't his "five to play four" clock already start?

Kelsey Lippert is a big loss IMO. He is really good on special teams and can play very strong at LB given the chance. Due to the behind the scenes going on's, fans will never know the truth why he left. A lot going on in with coaches and players that is never brought to the view of the fans....Good luck to you Kelsey!
