Northern Illinois Head Coach is Dave Doeren, He coached UM secondary and was recruiting coordinator in 2001-2002. Bob Cole is assistant coach and receivers coach and was UM offensive coordinator from 1999-2000.

Look up the espn madness bowls skit from SNL. I'm really looking forward to the Four Loco Life Begins at Conception Bowl featuring 3 dogs vs 100 bats.

I realize I am about to use a transitive property comparison, but it does at least give us a starting point for comparision.

Arkansas State beat Central Arkansas by 29 points
Montana beat Central Arkansas by 27 points

Northern Illinois beat Cal Poly by 17 points
Montana beat Cal Poly by 14 points

I feel that the upper tier of FCS could play with either of these teams.

It's the FCS's dirty little secret...
 
Honestly, I love football, but the BCS bowl games are complete joke. Why do you even help them with their ratings? Give me the bowl games as part of a 16 team playoff, and they get my viewership, including the games that would not mean anything, not part of the playoffs.
