Willy Walden looked great today, as did LV, Utterback and Hilliard. The D is STONG.

We are goin' to Disneyland : Hartman is ready

I didn't even see Vernon Smith play, so our CB's really are good, and the bad rap they've been getting has been totally blown out of proportion. That said, Disney just didn't look sharp. Maybe it's because they've all been facing eachother, so maybe the plays are getting stale with the defense knowing all that's going on every time. It'll be interesting, as always, to see them go out and hit someone else when August 30 rolls around.

It Didnt look like scoreing had any priority @ all. the ball moved: Justin Green looked great

Walden was the only TE who played:with both the 1's & 2's He tired out , but was game and worked his ass off, blocking looked good, caught a nice pass of two and miss one just out of reach late, (to tired to get off the ground in a big leaping fashion.] Look for him on kick off returns 2 )WALL(

The best runs of the day ( the ones the crowd reacted to- were by Hilliard and Utterback) these guys have the speed and moves and size - wow - am i glad nether went to the Kitty's, they both looked to have everything R Johnson had last year.

Casey Cordial did great for a Walkon - he's the only QB that had a scoreing Drive -

The doghouse boy's are really turning it on 100% ; those that started last year now playing w/ the 2's

Decoite ; Segars: K. Edwards; Varona had a ton of Hits; Dloughy was great

Special Teams are really going to be special this year. Kick off returns will be awsome. You can tell Hauk sure knows how to coach. What a different look than the last to years ( can you say WALL)

I think Justin Green will be our starter. He had one run of about seven yards or so were he just drilled throught the defense after cutting outside. You can tell he has skill. Otherwise, the RB's were unproductive, but I expected it with the d-line we have. Just ask Louis Ivory or Ryan Fuqua.

Rating the components of the team. Just my opinions.

(QB) I'll give them a B- they did good but nothing spectacular to rave about. They didn't get a lot of time to get a good look.

(RB) B- Justin Green is a load, on a day that the 1st team defense didn't allow much on the ground he looked hard to bring down. Engleman is a dissappointment again, in three scrimmages I've been to he hasn't showed much grit. The Green kid out of Utah looks tough to bring down and a good blocker. Utterback and Hilliard are going to be great in the future and did well today but against 2nd and 3rd stingers on the Defense. I'd like to see them against the 1st teamers to make a real judgement.

(WR) Get a B+ Segars looked solid as usual, a couple good receptions and a great punt return. Heidelberger looked awesome, 2 catches for 46 yards and a 42 yard punt return. I didn't see Talmage do much, did he catch a ball? Heidelberger will star for us this year ala Joe Douglass, look for it.

(OL) They get a C from me. They weren't opening holes for the backs and the QB's weren't getting enough time to find receivers. Here is where I'm the most worried. They've got to improve by Maine. The defensive line and linebackers were really good today, so maybe that's the problem.

(TE) Gets a B. Willy needs to be utilized more, he could be an awesome weapon and could take a lot of pressure off the QB and WR's. We need to get the ball to him 7-8 times a game.

(DL) Get an A. They just looked totally solid today. Stuffed the runs and were on the QB's all day.

(LB) Ditto the DL an A. They were tough today.

(CB) Gets a solid B. Atkins looked very good and a solid tackler. Number 36 Polhemus, I like the way he plays, he stuck like glue to his man. I also didn't see Smith today.

(S) I'd have to give them a B also because there were no long passes completed and no backs broke free for long gains against the first teamers. So they did a good job. I heard Van Cooper's name called so he is with the team.

(P) B+ Our freshman Tyson Johnson did real well, 40-42 yard kicks, very good hang time.

I understood that most of the number one offensive line weren't going to scrimmage today. If that is the case I can better understand why the o-line didn't look as sharp as they might. Of course, with our d-line coming at you there may be several o-lines around that won't look too good! If we platoon all of our skilled defensive players we will wear down most teams rather quickly.

Yes 62 on the KPAX sports tonight they reported that many 1st team offensive linemen were held out of the scrimmage today. So the grade above was for basically the second team line. So a C isn't so bad, they'll get bigger, stronger and better with some time and experience.

Nice Job Ronbo, I agree with almost everything. I would also like to hear from GrizMania or TrueGriz about their take on the srimmage. Those future RB's do look good. Hillard was much better than I expected. To me the biggest impact of the day was the stadium. I have to admit early on I felt the stadium looked bad in some photos, but the pleace looks absolutely awesome. Reminds me a little of Boise's stadium.

No, no tours... they are still working. From the looks of it, all the seats should be in in like a day or so. Lots completed.

As for the practice, the offense looked OK, special teams really good. Except #10 (Thomas?) fumbled on the first kick off.

Defensive Line looked great, rest of defense looked good.

I thought Hartman 'telegraphed' a lot of his passes and threw some lofty ones that he's lucky didn't get picked off.

I was impressed with Lex Hilliard as well. He was on special teams and did some running back too. He looks to be a tough kid, will be a star by next year what ever position he is playing.

Just can't wait for Maine!
