GFP recording tonight, USD recap & ISU preview

Looking at our upcoming TV schedule, the Griz prime time games are all on the road. Any reason ESPN doesn’t want to showcase the Griz at home?

ESPN is scared that an FCS venue could be better than any of the "wonderful" SEC locations

After looking at Brints write-up, it is clear we are all really excited for the ceiling of this defense. And so far they have lived up to expectations. Can you guys recall a time in griz football where we can go 3 deep on the linebacking group and 2 deep most other positions and not see any drop off? I don’t recall any of the early 2000’s teams this deep.

For a second question if you will all indulge me. With the amount of upsets we have seen from FCS and G5 this weekend it appears the gap has narrowed a little more. Is this a result of better talent in general at lower schools or rosters filled with 3rd and 4th year sophomores 5th and 6th year juniors and 6th and 7th year seniors following Covid?

The got to have bridge abutments at DT crowd must be disappointed that Gubner & Alford can run. With all due to Jesse Sims, they’re the best one/two punch we’ve had in a great while. How do the ends look to you guys?

Do you feel Bobby is holding back a lot of the offensive playbook?
The play calls seemed pretty vanilla for 2/3's of the game.
When do you think we actually use the triple option set?
Finally, did you notice the 1 set we had an offensive lineman (I think it was Brandon Casey) spread out wide? Unfortunately, we got called for an offensive penalty, before the snap and we didn't see what was cooked up for that play. It looked to me, it was to have a true blocker on the outside for a WR screen, or possibly to block on some sort of sweep.

First question, does it seem to you guys that Lucas might tuck it and run too soon sometimes? I thought he did a good job vs NW. Maybe since SD’s DB’s were better, he was coached to run sooner then later but to me he certainly seemed to tuck it quicker in game 2.

2nd question, does Marcus seem a little hesitant to test the knee? He seems to me like he’s a bit hesitant to cut and juke some, specifically on the 3rd down run before Lucas’s failed 4th down run that led to SD’s only TD.

On a dry Montana fall course would you rather bump and run a 5 hybrid or try to land a pitch, you are 65 yards out and the greens are hard but true. Pin is middle cut, but so are you because you got on the piss early.

No, Johnson doesn't tuck and run too soon. I have not seen him do that in two games.

I agree with you that Marcus is working his way back.

40-80 yards out is my nemesis. Probably thinking a 1/2 swing 50 degree that'll either land and run (b/c I can't hit with spin) or I'm gonna blade that puppy 20 yards over the green.
