I am starting to get sick of all the crap on here, making everything about Griz fans hating the Bobcats. That used to be and still is what cat fans do, make everything about hating the Griz. Now everytime something gets posted on here you get many people going off on the whole FTC things. I do not like MSU, and am glad to see them lose, but I am not going to get on here and compare everything the Griz do to everything the Cats do, the goal of the Griz is to win the National Championship, not just to be better than the Cats. I post stuff on facebook taunting Cat fans before their games,but not after. When they lose, I am sure their fans do notice, they don't need us to rub their faces in it, unless it is a loss to the Griz then I am fine with Griz fans rubbing it in. MSU lost a close game yesterday and I was very happy when SMU took the lead with 14 seconds left, but the last thing on my mind was saying FTC, I save that for one week a year. For this week I say FT(whatever letter we insert for a no named team from North Dakota), and I could care less about what happens with the Cats. Just had to go on a little rant here, sorry. GO GRIZ!!!!!!
 
I agree to, it is time to take out the trash and get rid of all Cat posters. Ban them, put them in one forum so they cant post anywhere else and get this garbage off the site.
 
Agree with you on Griz fans starting Cat-hating threads. How many are there on the first page now? It's dumb. But to be fair, a LONG TIME AGO, Egriz was overrun with Cat posters who throw smack into every single thread on this forum no matter what it's about. See Navy Seal thread, on and and on. I wrote a column last year about how the internet has added a completely new dimension to this rivalry, and as of late, it's not for the better IMO.
 
I actually posted a thread last night title "congrats to cats" and stated that them competing and almost winning is good for FCS football and very good for the Big Sky Conference but someone took it down. What is up with that?

Seems stupid I can't be a Cat fan without hating the Griz. As a UM grad, I love the Griz, but the Cats are my team. I am a Griz fan every day of the year-but one. Go Cats.

Cat Fan first, MT FB fan (I-AA or NAIA) second, BSC fan third, I-AA fan always
 
I can understand the friendly trash talking. I'm not a fan of trash talking though, especially on a damn fan forum. What is annoying, disappointing, and upsetting are the posts bashing any player on any team. The posts reflecting negatively on a great person and player, really piss me off. Example of this are each side bashing either JJ or DM, etc.

Like it or not, no matter the team they play for, they bust their asses for our universities, state, and programs. They represent our state with dignity, respect, class, and professionally. They are not only assets to their teams, but our university and state. That goes to every player at every college in this state. Do you not realize how pathetic it makes each fan base look when either resorts to the bullshit childish bashing of great individuals?

Worse yet, we have the likes of Chris, and mods on each site, who have allowed us to talk about our programs, and universities. For me and many others it is the best place to go. As much as I love EGRIZ, there are few too many posters who don't care about perception of the sites, the people running them, the people managing them, the schools, programs, and the players. Seriously, the BS posts of bashing schools, coaches, players, and fan bases are uncalled for, and take away from the experience of fan forums. Can we please keep this in mind, and show some class, dignity, and respect ? At the very least toward the players who bust their asses for our universities, and great state..

Well said mtgrizrule. I have yet to HATE Bobcat player. Sometimes don't like the things they do on the field over the years, but that's football in general. I have known Cat players in the past, great dudes. Never saw the reason to HATE college football players no matter how serious the rivalry. Don't understand it. Never will.

And this is a FACT. No matter how bad some fans wish it weren't true on both sides of the rivalry, Cats and Griz players mix ALL THE TIME. There are friendships, relationships, mutual respect, they end up at public functions, parties, bars ect together. They hang out in the summer, some have lived together after their careers are over (Tru and Akpla), I could go on and on. The hatred some people think exists isn't always as it seems. And it's funny because I think the things I just listed really bother some Cats and Griz fans alike.
 
Thanks Jay. This board has become unreadable anymore. Any real football discussion gets trumped by posts with 5th grade level smack and dick jokes. These topics display a strange obsession. It's pretty pathetic... Makes me embarrassed that these people consider themselves Griz fans or are from Montana.

Also, good post mtgrizrule and Havre. You are both right on the money.

Well HavFan good post.....part of the problem is the cat hating has gotten more intense since the arrival of Ash and success of the FB program....and of course the fan base of Bozeman has regained their "swagger" and many including myself engage in it. A lot of the fanbase of the Griz has taken issue with it....it's just human nature and I can't blame them but it goes to say that both fanbases can try to make themselves feel better by tearing the others' down...kind of a character defect of humans! I don't know the answer.....

I said this very thing years ago. fans take this rivalry to a whole other level than even the players do. over the years in college I have made many friends both cats and griz. the players hang out quite often in the summers depending on the situations. especially in this state. I have been to no few than 5 weddings over the last 7 years in which a former cat or griz player was getting married and there were dudes from the other team IN the wedding party.

it's the fans that make this rivalry as toxic as it is....not the players. people simply have no perspective. sure, when a guy suffers a loss of a loved one and posts it on these boards people are quick to pay their respects and talk about perspective but that lasts about an hour before the petty childish stuff starts up all over.

some people simply don't have a clue. no more...no less...

I'm one of the assholes doing this. I'll stop because its kinda childish but it humors me to see them get all fired up and watch them try to be recognized. I'll quit if its pissing people off. I guess I could contribute more than just $hit talking. Sorry guys. But I'm not gonna change my signature at the bottom. :D

I grew up a cat fan, went to UND, and married a Griz. Love them all, great teams and great fans. This week my wife and I will wear are respective school colors, jab at each other, go the game and sit in the Griz section for her. BTW are daughter is at UND now. We are going to the UND this weekend, as my wife helps run the alumini things for the Griz in Fargo. Guess what, she is also helping run the MSU booth in Grand Forks on the 28th. Why? She has become friends with a lot of Great Cat fans in Fargo, and she loves Montana football. Don't be hard on yourself, try to live in Fargo and deal with the egotistical NDSU Bison fans.

I can't believe that anybody takes it seriously....it's just hammering back and forth. They say stupid stuff, Griz fans say stupid stuff. Who gives a rats ass? I get more upset when a Griz fan says something ridiculous about the Griz than I do about scat fans and Griz fans jabbing back and forth...
 
i don't think anyone takes it very seriously, they just want a higher average level of discussion per thread (brains/posts). someone needs to call off mr. greenie jr's high school class assignment!
