Get your butt to the Stanford game

GRIZNATION...Must have been a pre-season poll since they lost at home on opening night. They have a team that will contend for the PAC-10 title, but not sure if they are top 25 now. Go GRIZ.

I think they were #14 in one poll, #13 in another.... then they fell to #25... then they fell out of the poll...

They have a good team.... should be a sell-out game for the GRIZ!

BARNBALL, you might want to follow college hoops a little closer. The Stanford Cardinal are only 2-1 on the season, losing at home by 16 to UC-Irvine. They are ranked 30th and 29th in two different polls, and have not even been close to the top 25 all year, let alone 14th!

Wsider, perhaps YOU should watch more closely!

Everett..I do so that is why I am correcting folks who say the Griz are playing the 14th ranked team in the country. If Stanford is the 14th ranked team in the country NOW after losing to UC-Irvine who has since lost to CS-STANISLAUS (who?), then perhaps the Utah Valley State Wolverines should be getting votes in your poll. Maybe YOU should pull your head out.

I dont care if they are ranked or not, we need a big win! That second half in Boise is hurting right now cause we had that game in our hand and let it slip. We could be 4-0 right now but were not so I just want a big win on friday.

  Hey I got that 14 straight from the Missoulian before we were all informed of the UC- Irvine situtation. I do the best I can.  Lets not be pickin on old Barn Ball unless you do not have more interesting things to do. They tell me when I ask that they have at least three NBA probables playing with the Stanford group. I do not expect the expected crowd based on my observations of the last 30 home games. Montana has a fine fun bunch to watch but...... I will not bore you with my attendance problem theories because ole barny is going to stay out of trouble. Home court advantage is not where we would like it to be.

Not that it matters much, but technically the last ranked team to play at Dahlberg was '02-'03 Gonzaga, right?

Griz almost pulled it out against them in front of a strong* crowd. Stanford isn't ranked and lacks the regional rivalry pull so we can only expect about 3K snoring fans.

*By strong I mean I only got to switch to nicer seats than I had tickets for six or seven times.

Here is a link to the First NCAA Coaches Poll, STANFORD RANKED #13, I think you owe someone an apology :naughty:

I will be there with my 8 month old son, his 1st Griz basketball game.

Go Griz!

- Although I'm a little concerned about having to carrying the diaper bag, it's not really a "manly" thing to do, but you gotta carry the thing around in case he craps his pants.

Maybe not ReMax, but its the 'daddy thing' to do. :thumb:

Griz Backer...I would gladly apologize if it is deserved. However, my point is not what Stanford was ranked a month ago, but what they are ranked when the come to Missoula. The Cardinal is not the 14th ranked team in the country, more likely around #30. So, the Griz will be defeating the 30th ranked team not the 14th ranked team.

Throw away the diaper bag, just use a backpack - your kid really doesn't care about the cute bunnies or clowns printed on diaper bag, and the back pack holds more anyways.

I am predicting right now that Montana goes on a Vermont-style Sweet 16 run this year.

The Stanford game will get us on the radar.

it will be a good game...but not sure if it will be a sell out
ex: two years ago when the griz played gonzaga...definetly not a sellout

This is the first game in................ok EVER that multiple people have hit me up for my extra tickets. I usually can't even give them away. There will be a good crowd. i doubt it will be sold-out though.

I remember the last time Stanford played the Griz here. I thought Todd Lichti had the best-looking 3-point stroke I'd ever seen outside of maybe Scott Skiles. He would just drain 3 after 3 after 3 in warm-ups barely touching the net. I never got to watch Skiles from 2 feet away though, but I did see Skiles score something like 40+ before the 3-point line existed.

Who was the tall red-headed dork on that team? He played in the NBA too. Name excapes me.

Reread your own original post, Wsider. In it you state that Stanford "hasn't been close to the top 20 all year". That's the part of your post I was stating was incorrect.

Stanford had the big guy out with an ankle sprain when they lost. I assume this is posted somewhere near here. Haryasz fella 6"11" Senior.
17 points per game.
