Kudos to men's tennis coach Kris Nord for the addition of Timo Gehrke, transfer from Old Dominion. Gehrke has an excellent tennis background having played at a high level in Germany and Old Dominion. I like what I'm beginning to see in our tennis program..men and women. There isn't any reason why we can't build a national caliber tennis program at UM. Now, we need to continue to improve our schedule regarding number of matches and caliber of opponents.
 
Might need some indoor courts. Tough to practice from Late October - February now. Sounds like the Peak is going to build a tennis facility on their property. Maybe the U will be able to use that some.
 
Yes, we need an indoor facility for practice and matches, not to mention recruiting. I realize tennis doesn't have the fan appeal of football and basketball, however, building excellent teams with the women and men can generate considerable fan interest.
