Who are you really a fan of?

Graduated from Montana when they lost to a Florida State squad with 4 NBA players by 10 points. Now THAT was a basketball team.
Too bad you didn't take a class on not being a douche during your time in Missoula.

The truth hurts doesn't it?

By the way MNGriz04, where did you say you coached at?

Lost by 15 to the 4th best team in the Big Ten. How are the Griz doing again?

Thats SDSU....not Wolters. He had a bad game

Wolters scored 10 points AND held Trey Burke to single digits for the first time in Trey collegiate career. What was the high score for the Griz?

Dude, they still lost

Yep but they didn't get embarrassed like the Griz. Now I have to go to my office tomorrow and hear all the crap about Montana being blown out.......AGAIN!

A basketball team that lost out in the first round of the NCAA tournament...seems things were no different then

There is a huge difference in a 10 point loss and a 50 POINT LOSS, like still having a fucking chance and playing a competitive game.

As I said in a couple other threads, how in the hell were we a 13 seed? How do we lose to Davidson in a weaker conference and get a higher seed? A 14 seed obviously would have made a lot more sense with them getting the 13.

Silver lining: Tinks should be here a bit longer...

Get a couple bigs coach!!!

CFalls, pretty sure people explained how that was possible...guess you are good at asking questions but not at reading the helpful answers of some.

Syracuse's 47-point win is largest ever by 3-seed or lower in NCAA Tournament since seeding began, breaking VCU's record from an hour ago.
Any publicity is good publicity... right??

I didn't say but I have helped coach AAU teams in the Twin Cities.

So you are admitting to being a douche. Go figure.

So everyone should gauge the success/failure of Montana basketball based on the worst game played by a UM team in probably the past 10-15 years? No one is trying to sugar coat the outcome of the game, but I doubt anyone can remember a Griz team that had as poor a shooting night. As for Cherry, the zone is his biggest nightmare, it took away any chance of him driving to the hoop and he is lucky to hit the backboard most times when he shoots from out.

I feel bad for Will. Anyone who watched him knows he has a ton of fight. Sad to see the seniors go out this way after such a great season. There are no moral vicories in the Dance. Just Ws and L's. I almost think Davidson's loss was more painful. How about Harvard!?

So Tip, what you're getting at, if I understand you correctly is, this exact roster of Griz would have somehow fared better against the Cuse tonight had they won the WAC instead of the Big Sky? I'm just curious because WAC champion NMSU is also a 13 seed.

use your fucking head...with moving up comes better talent, and more importantly, the ability to schedule a tougher group. shoulda moved up ten years ago...hope that ship hasn't sailed.

Syracuse fielded a team unlike anything in the Big Sky. Those were big guys. It isn't so much that Montana couldn't play Syracuse, the fact is that the Big Sky Conference couldn't prepare Montana to play Syracuse.

Too, the ball didn't go in. Can't say Montana didn't shoot, and with good position; one of those games where the ball just didn't go in. They did shut down Cherry and Jamar, but Gregory missed several from "his" range. No real reason, just "didn't go in."

But, what a terrific season, what a terrific team, what a terrific coach. This was a team. Insofar as "sports" is concerned, this team is what it is really all about.

Stubby supposedly there might not even be a WAC in a year or so.

You used wac and stubby in the same sentence

i do it all the time....................................use those words in a sentence together...........nothing else.

and that's why I hope that ship hasn't sailed. Ten years ago, even five...the wac was a great conference for the u of m...might have been invited to the MW, or a couple other teams may have stayed. Don't know, but I do know that it makes the u of m's options a lot less visable than they were just a few short years ago.

Neither you nor I will have any impact on elevating Griz athletic fortunes. Look around you...complacency reigns! There is no general desire or hint of leadership for UM to be anything more than what it is: the flag bearer for a half century old halfway house conference for teams in transition. A new generation of Gonzaga's and Boise State's will pass through while the Griz continue treading water waiting for...what? In the meantime, there is little to be satisfied about...
