Saw this and thought I would pass it along.

The Reivers of Iowa Western Community College are currently (21-3) on the season and (2-1) in conference play. Head coach Jim Morris has his team tied with Southeastern Community College and Indian Hills Community College in conference play with three games left. JucoJunction had a chance to touch base with assistant coach James Bankhead on some players recruitment at the Council Bluffs, IA school.

Lloyd Phillips: (SO) 5-foot-10 (165) from Washington DC. Phillips played at Allen County Community College in Iola, KS last season. Lloyd signed with the University of Montana, but had second thoughts and returned to junior college ball and landed at Iowa Western Community College. Phillips, a combo guard, is currently averaging 16.2 ppg and 3.8 assists this season while shooting 44% (77-175) from three point range.

Middle Tennessee State, St, Bonaventure, Troy (AL) and South Dakota State have shown the most interest in Phillips. Lloyd prepped out of high school at Coastal Christian Academy in Virginia Beach, VA.

Thank you for the update. I wish he would have stayed with us. I seen him play 4 times this summer. He was every bit as quick as Ellis, very good perimeter game, some hops, and extremely difficult to defend. I guarantee if he had stuck with us, this team would have won most every close game, and be 6-3 at worse in Conference play. He is a difference making player in my opinion. :thumb:

you saw him play, mtgrizrule, i didn't, but south dakota state, troy,
st bonaventure and middle tennessee are hardly big-time programs. makes me think maybe we missed a good kid but not a difference maker.

For this program and our struggles we are encountering, he would have been a difference maker. He would match up with any quick small pg in the league. I know for fact Dominguez of psu would not have taken over that game. Everytime I seen him play, he was dictating the flow of the game, penetrating, kicking it out, or hitting the open 3. He played confidently in every aspect of the game. Nobody here has to agree with me. IMHO, for the BSC level of play he would have most definitely been a difference maker. In major conference he would contribute, not a difference maker though.
