Fullerton (Foolerton) and college basketball

Here is an example of why I am relieved he is retiring.

Yet again, as I am channel surfing, what do I stumble upon? St Francis verses Robert Morris are playing on ESPNU in an NEC game!!! What does this have to do with Fullerton? I often find other small to mid major conference games on various sports network being played live. Yet, why isn't there any Big Sky games filling some time slots here and there? Seriously, how often do we stumble upon a BSC basketball game when channel surfing? It is pretty bad when our conference has fallen below the likes of the NEC in college basketball.

There is a market on cable television and internet streaming companies for small conferences to have their games broadcasted to a better viewing audience than what the BSC provides. Why has the Big Sky Conference not been more aggressive pursuing more regional and national exposure for the conference, especially so in basketball. I am actually pretty happy with Root Sports deal for football.

I so hope and pray the conference hires a proactive aggressive commissioner. In the meantime, I'll be spending the next few hours watching St Francis and Robert Morris.

A change will be welcomed. My hope is that they can bring in someone unaffiliated with the conference who will bring some fresh and innovative ideas.

Bring in someone with strong ties to all the changes the Big East has gone through over the years. Hell, I'd be for one person in charge of basketball, and another in charge of football.

Over the years, I really have admired and respected how the Big East has adjusted to the ever changing world of college athletics.
