From the Kaimin

The way Bruenig is playing this year I hope the team gels and we can win the conference and send this kid to the tourney. I think it would make his circuitous journey and the risks he took worth it.

Those were great articles. The Kaimin can really do a good job; surprising at that level.

This is a team still trying to find its "teamness" and is struggling with five guys playing basketball. Breunig is not quite the same without Jordan Gregory to feed him the ball, and vice versa. They were the leading scoring pair in the conference last year and I hope that is not irreplaceable. Krslovic is proving invaluable, but not shooting as well as I would have expected this year; of course, neither Gfeller.

Boehning got some valuable time at Gonzaga and is starting to look more comfortable. He looked enthusiastic which is the first time I've seen him display any emotion at all. Montana's defense was very good last night. Kept Gonzaga dry for long periods. Too bad DeJong didn't get a chance, good defender, but needs to start hitting shots.

After watching last night's game, I was feeling more optimistic about the Griz. Though they lost, they looked poised and played great defense. Just one or two plays that would have gone their way and they would have won. Again, keep hoping Gfeller shakes off his shooting woes. Would think he will. Had he hit them like he did last year, Griz would have won.

Was impressed by the play of Wright, Lopez and Krslovic. And of course you can always count on Bruenig to come through in the clutch. Oguine looked like a freshman. But he, as well as Moorehead, obviously have great promise.

One thing that made me optimistic was seeing Boehning provide valuable minutes. He hasn't got great touch on the offensive end, or is he fleet of foot, but he's a big body on the defensive end and he can pull down rebounds. He knows how to set good picks, as well. Hopefully he'll develop some touch with the shots.

With Dunn coming back, I'm excited to see what kind of damage the Griz can do in conference play.

Agreed

I have been impressed with Lopez and Moorhead. They are both making 3's at a higher percentage than Gfeller. Moorhead, I think should get more time on the court. After the Boise game I was wowed by Oguine. He took over the game. I felt, "We are going to be good." Since then Oguine has looked to be a different player. Seems like he is thinking too much. Just play. Confidence?
