From LA Times, 7 ft 440 lb H.S. lineman looking at a university in Montana

This kid is currently not close to being able to play at the BSC level...

Most college prospects aren't. That's why 90% of players don't get meaningful PT until their sophomore year.

I do agree that he probably isn't close to being at the level that you would offer a scholarship though. Saying that, he could be a preferred walk on type guy for a program with a power type offense. If he loses some of his baby fat and gains some flexibility he might be able to help somebody in the right circumstances.

You can't teach someone to be seven foot 440 lbs. I would love to see the kid get a chance to come here and see what he can do. He just might surprise some of you jerks. I would play em at DT good luck pushing him out of the way.

Judging by his size, I assume he'll want to be home for Thanksgiving. Therefore, he must be looking at msu.
No way he was ever considering MSU. He said he wants to play in the NFL someday and state doesn't have much of a track record there. I also agree you cant teach a guy to be 7', but you can teach them footwork, nutrition etc.

They wouldn't worry about pushing him....his lack of penetration due to slow feet, too tall for leverage would make him a non-factor in the block scheme.

A couple of 7 footers have played in the NFL but no doubt they weren't 440 pounds. Get the young guy moving, get him better nutrition, coach up his skills and who knows what he might accomplish? He's far too young to write off even though he has a lot of hard work ahead if he even wants to play FCS football let alone something more.

Didn't Delaney have a tubby recruit who lost his offer when Stitt was hired? Kid's coach was pissed etc?

Wasn't it the kid that really wanted to join his brother at UCLA...not sure his heart was ever into UM...

Bring him here....work off 100lbs and make him a tight end...no wait, a WR for the Red Zone only. Hell, he could stand there and grab the throw...no more red zone issues....

Wasn't that the kid that his dad got all pissed and ended up saying he'd go to the Cats or something like that?? Because they know commitment!

Make him the short yardage power running back. Sure you can cut his feet out from under him easy enough, but how many times do you want to be landed on by 440lbs? Winning by attrition.
or
Set him at TE in the jumbo formation, give him a short 'jab route' i.e. take three steps forward, to the front edge of the end zone and have gus toss it above every one else reach. it would only be a throw of 12-15 feet. or course it might take some time for that play to develop.

You guys crack me up. Kid says he wants to play at a "college" in Montana and you say "kid can't play at the BCS level", "he doesn't move well", and "if UM coaches recruit him, they need to be replaced". Then SST mentions the kid wants to be a Griz and "I would love to see the kid come here", "he'd be good at intimidating kickers", and "no way he was considering MSU". Good work guys!

What is happening on Bobcatville.com today? Don't answer that. Nobody here gives a baker's fuck. See how that works?

Shouldn't you be mopping up at Mik's about now?

Holy shit! He dwarfs that big TE from Baylor. I wonder if he can catch? Say he only played a few downs per game. Might solve the red zone issues... New meaning to "jumbo package."
