Free throws? The Lady Griz are way better.

15 of 17 in the Sunday win at NAU. If anyone were to do stats comparing the men and women the Lady Griz are consistently better from the line. I have no answer as to why, but I believe at the college level the ladies overall are equal to or better than the guys. Lord knows the Griz have been hurt badly with their abysmal free throw shooting in BSC play.

ISU's women lead the entire nation in free throw shooting at 82.6-percent, and there's no doubt that shooting from the line will either lose you several games or win you several during any given season.

Not taking anything away from the women at all, but I have to admit...it's easier for me to hit free throws with their smaller ball. Still, for any TEAM, at any level to shoot over 75-percent is pretty darn remarkable.

There are three teams shooting better than 75% in Big Sky on the women's side. ISU, Northern Colorado, and Lady Griz. So, maybe it shouldn't be that difficult.

Over at the Estes tourney in Anaconda, I remember Carla Beattie with the 3-point contest -- beating the bobs' Danny Sprinkle in the final round.
