Former Griz Walk-On Playing for Eagle 7's Rugby

Martin I. is currently starting for the USA 7's rugby team. 7's rugby will be in the Rio Olympics. Grew up in Hawaii, played receiver, I think, for Western, and tried to walk on at UM. Great athlete. Don't know why he didn't get on the field at UM.

Watched a 7's match a couple weeks ago on NBC. The announcers kept talking about how special of a player he is. Talked about his journey from Montana etc. Kept thinking damn, if only he would have been a Griz. ha. He's a horse. Will be fun to watch him and team USA in the Olympics. Good stuff.

Heard that he didn't play for Griz because Jean Gee didn't like him, involving something minor from before he got to Missoula.
