Former Griz AD Moos Lands at Nebraska

That's Big Time, congrats to Bill! Would love to see a Montana @ Nebraska game sometime in the future. Great venue in Lincoln. Would be good to play them before they on the rise again ;)

Mike Riley is most likely out at the end of the season (if not before). Too bad. He's a great guy, just not that great at developing talent anymore.

Moos didn't want to leave Wazzu. He approached the new President multiple times about an extension and was continually rebuffed. Sounds like there is considerable friction between that athletic department and the new President. Moos accepted the position and Wazzu found out through twitter. Nebraska got a good one because of failure by the WSU President.

Kinda sounds like the Wazzu president is related to Engstrom. Same dumb ass thought process.

When was he the AD at Montana?
Mid 90s I believe
1990 to 1995; a tenure which saw arguably the most growth by Griz athletics, particularly football. To go to Oregon from Montana in '95, you know he had to be good.

Did he do something wrong at Oregon to be banished to Pullman?

He stood up to Phil Knight. Admirable, but a losing move. For his Oregon payout he had sit out three years. He ranched in the Palouse.

Kinda like if a UM AD stood up to the Washington family.

More like a EWU AD standing up their parole officer.

In all seriousness, if EWU ever came into money, it would not surprise me in the least if they spent it on (or it was earmarked for) something fucking stupid and useless like gold-plated taintscratchers for the staff, an above ground pool luxury box in the end zone, a Tupac hologram, or red turf.
