Any "true" playoff would be welcomed by me and a huge improvment. IMHO though it needs to be 16. With 8, the "Power" conferences would still have a huge advantage. 16 would be fairer for teams that lose late in the regular season, and much better for mid majors. Conferences such as MWC, WCC, CUSA, etc would still get "shafted" way too often with only 8. Plus 8 would pad power conferences pockets much more, and leave very little for mid majors. To be honest, I am so sick of conferences being tagged as "Power", "Major", "Mid Major", and "Small". I wish all 1A schools would be weighed equally. Yes, I know it is nit picky on my part, but it is one of the few pet peeves I have concerning athletics.
Also I would honestly watch every game in a playoff format. Right now I only watch regional teams and the so called national championship. I honestly prefer to watch FCS playoff games over meaningless bowl games, regardless if the GRIZ are playing or not. The playoff games mean something, meanwhile the meaningless bowl games lack excitement. 16 team playoff system would mean 15 games, all of which could be tied into the system. All other bowl games could be done as they are set up now. Makes sense to me, why can't this make sense to the powers to be? Anyway such is life. I better leave it at that before I get into the "taboo" subject here.
