Welcome to our humble board Crimson. I was hoping this was going to be a thread about how much were all going to miss football for the next several months. I hate the sports section of the paper this time of year, theres nothing to read in there but BB crap. I lost interest in BB as soon as it became a street game in the early 90's. Once Magic, Bird, Jabbar, Lambier, Parrish, Thomas ect. left the league its been ruined by lazy play and lack of team play.

Ohh for sure, it's all recruiting here now. After signing day, then it's countdown to our Spring Scrimmage. After that, it gets grim. Few hundred days without football, it shouldn't be legal!

Mr. John Parker Wilson, he'll be a Junior next season. He really did well in 2006.[/quote]

Are they planning on offering his brother, the kid from MTV's "Two a Days"?

Thanks for stopping by our board Crimson. Montana has great potential for 2007. I haven't counted for sure, but I believe we have 17 starters returning. And we have great depth at pretty much every position. QB is probably our biggest question mark, we have lots of talent that will be competing for the job come spring, the probable leader is a junior who played extensively as a freshman, but only started one game last year. Montana's defense -- the strength of our team last year -- should be ferocious once again. Our O line should also be deep, big and strong. Recruiting is a little unusual this year. The team has only 5 scholarships to offer. We lost one recruit to Arizona State of the Pac 10 -- a 6-5, 260 lb lineman. There hasn't been a lot of news on incoming recuirts, so many of us are anxiously waiting for next Wednesday.

Welcome Crimson,

I'm a 'Bama native myself so a Tide fan. Most of my relatives are split between Alabama and Auburn. Make an interesting Thanksgiving dinner.

I can relate, we went through a similar situation when Brodie Croyle graduated, although there wasn't much competition for the job, but I know how it feels to hold your breath when the QB steps on the field for his first start.

 Don't I know it! I'm lucky, my whole family is all UA, but there is Aubs everywhere, makes the rivalry that much more nasty!

Out of curiosity how did you stumble across our board? Do you have any connections to Montana? WELCOME to E-GRIZ!

Ha, it's quite funny actually.

Last offseason when Hawaii was first on the schedule, I joined their forum, and have been apart of their "Ohana" for a few months. A fellow poster actually helped start a Portland State forum, and linked me up to this page. I'm not very familiar with non D-1 football and thought it'd be nice to learn about a team that seemed to share so success and tradition in the sport lately and definitely see how it felt to have a playoff!

Playoffs are the ticket. I can't beleive more coaches of BCS schools don't push for them. Montana has had a very good run of success the last 20years and hopefully the next 20. The biggest downside to FCS football is the lack of TV money. This has caused some major problems with scheduling and finances at many FCS schools.
The schools that make money off home games do not want to give up the money to schedule road games and thus do not want home and homes, leaving them to play the sisters of the deaf and blind. I have no clue how schools like UC davis can play 4 home 7 road games or whatever it was last year and stay afloat.
Good luck with your new coach I would like to see Bama in the running for a national championship in the next few years.

First off, I appreciate the kind words. We're really excited about our new era in Alabama football, we've gone through the darkest hour of our program, and I'm ready to move forward.

As far as the playoff, If they'd sit down for a few hours, they could create a system where you'd have some sort of a playoff, but still get the money the bowls make. Being an SEC fan, I'd love a playoff. Because it's sooooooo hard to go undefeated in our league compared so a conference like the Pac-10. I truly believe had there been a playoff, LSU would have won it. There is promising news of a plus one system starting as soon as 2011, but I'll just keep holding my breath!

We are Div I. not Div II. I am sure you are a good guy or whatever but I just can't stand when schools that are in the BCS think that everybody that doesn't play in their special little Bowl games are Div II or even Div III.

Looks like the Tide had a pretty good recruiting day. Hopefully things will be looking up.

Roll Tide! :thumb:
