Guys i am a little intimidated by all the knowledge on this board but I'm an out of state fan coming out for my first game this year and i just what to know what i can expect for my first time. Is the SEC atmospehere a real thing and what is good to do in Missoula.
 
Hit up the Missoula Club for burgers, known to locals as the Mo club. I'd also float the river if you have a couple days in town and the weather is nice. Hit up downtown and just walk and check it out. Gameday, just get tipsy and tailgate and enjoy the game.
 
Hang around Higgins at night, frequent the breweries, listen to some tunes, hit some tailgates, walk through campus, check out the river.

Most importantly, get your Griz on.

The atmosphere is real...the tailgating is real.....the fans are real.....its everything you've imagined.
 
It's the best of everything! I'm a season ticket holder in the NEZ and I fly down from Alaska for the home games. The home opener is going to be amazing with the new Griz vision and turf. You are in for a treat my friend!

Can't go wrong with floating the river (get in outside Missoula in East Missoula or further between Bonner, and Johnsrud park, float into town, get out and do whatever!

Btw, how's Kettlehouse 3 coming along in Bonner?

Definitely stay out of the Missoula Walmart. I mean, many Walmarts can be "freak shows" but that place is amazing...

No, cause he lives in Alaska.. He can slay the big fish during the week and catch Griz games on the weekend. Can't go wrong with that.
