The only reason the final poll matters to me is because the preseason poll matters to me, and a majority of voters in the TSN poll pretty much base the preseason poll on the final poll. For instance, after NDSU demolishes Towson next week, the Bizon will be No. 1 of course, and even though they lose 24 seniors and full-time 15 starters, they will be ranked No. 1 in the TSN Preseason Poll. The reason the preseason poll matters to me is, even if the Griz get a somewhat inflated ranking, with 2 of the first 4 games at Wyoming and NDSU, I wouldn't mind seeing the Griz ranked high so they stay in the Top 25 even if they drop those two games. I think it's very naive to think the TSN Poll doesn't matter at all. It actually carries quite a bit of weight, just as the AP Poll does in the FBS. I don't get too high or too low on polls, but to say they are meaningless is a little bit naive.
