Final 2013 Griz ranking???

Where do you think the Griz will be ranked in the final FCS poll?

I think they will finish out of the top ten after their playoff loss and end up somewhere between #12-16.

Thoughts...
 
:roll: 8th place? I hope its not up in top 5, i feel it will not be good for the year, I would rather climb to top, then climb to the bottom.

I am kinda with Hammer on this one. Why some posters are so fixated with polls is beyond me.

No1 Griz:

I Didn't mean to be a jerk but the FCS has a playoff system. That's one benefit that puts the FCS in a "special" position vs the FBS. I'd rather focus on that. If being ranked 10th-15th in the final FCS poll is important to you, that's your business. I just think it's a moot point.
 
This board doesn't have a lot of new threads and most of them get derailed by name calling, AG1, epeen sizing, etc. If someone wants to discuss the final poll ranking let 'em. If you don't care to talk about it why come in and bitch that someone else cares and nearly derail this thread? o.O.


Personally I think we will be 12-15. Hard to say. Kind of depends on which poll. I think SN will keep us in the low 10's whereas others will put us high teens.
 
Polls suck and are usually wrong. If UM was actually the #5 team they wouldn't have lost the playoff game. And if the cats were as high as the pollsters claimed they were, they woulda made the playoffs. But... since someone is asking for guesses, I'm gonna guess... hmmm.... #10. ?? If they can get a top 25 spot in a pre-season poll coming off a 5-6 season, there shouldn't be any problem getting a 10 or higher spot. Although I hope for a 14-18 spot.
 
The only reason the final poll matters to me is because the preseason poll matters to me, and a majority of voters in the TSN poll pretty much base the preseason poll on the final poll. For instance, after NDSU demolishes Towson next week, the Bizon will be No. 1 of course, and even though they lose 24 seniors and full-time 15 starters, they will be ranked No. 1 in the TSN Preseason Poll. The reason the preseason poll matters to me is, even if the Griz get a somewhat inflated ranking, with 2 of the first 4 games at Wyoming and NDSU, I wouldn't mind seeing the Griz ranked high so they stay in the Top 25 even if they drop those two games. I think it's very naive to think the TSN Poll doesn't matter at all. It actually carries quite a bit of weight, just as the AP Poll does in the FBS. I don't get too high or too low on polls, but to say they are meaningless is a little bit naive.
 
I don't think they're meaningless but I think if they were to use a power ranking system of sorts they would be more accurate and more reliable. I mean, after MSU got of to its fumbling start and still ranked in the top 5 for the majority of the season and still ranked 14 right before the playoffs and not make the playoffs is kinda deceiving. Just my opinion tho...
 
I guess the only real reason the final polls Might matter is for recruiting. But hey, if they want to be a Griz, that will not matter if they are 9 or 25. There are still 122 FCS schools, and if your in the top 25 year in and out with that stadium and fan support, what's not liking it? My guess is that since the Griz were in the field of 16, but lost at home, they will end up around 12-13 in the polls. EWU will end up #3, and the Bobcats will not be ranked. SUU and NAU will fall to 20-25. BSC needs a better showing next year in the playoffs.

I'm going to Vegas in a few weeks where many of the girls seem obsessed with poles and seem to spend a huge amount of time on them. :lol:
