good post. our front seven will be very good against the run again this year. the teams that beat us all had offenses with a strong passing threat.

Good thing App has the best WR Corps in the FCS and a 5th year Sr QB. :thumb:
wr's are that good? really? who are they and what are their stats?

4 starters:
Sean Price 6'5 215 RsSo. 1200 yards while missing 2 games last year.
1 year Highlights: http://youtu.be/_Cyv7BabgoI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Andrew Peacock 5'11 190 5th year Sr. 795 yards receiving last year,
Tony Washington 5'11 190 5th year Sr. 635 yards recieving last year, 71 rushing.
Malachi Jones, 6'1 190 Soph. 370 yards as a freshman.

Jamal Jackson passed for 3300 yards last year. He played injured from game 1 to the end of the season, including against the Griz. Had off season surgery, expected to be 100% for the fall, practiced in limited capacity for spring.

I'm guessing Price and the rest of the App receivers are going to pretty much have their way with the griz secondary. All they need to do is look at the North Dakota tape from last year when they threw for like 800 yards on the griz.

wow! i thought peacock was done. seems like he's been there forever. how does your o line look? i see you only have six starters on d back.

Everyone on offense returns except the RB.

The OL will return, but we're hoping some new guys "upgrade" it. A little more competition and another year under their belts cant hurt.

3 Rs OL come in this year and there is actually 1 true Fr Im excited to see maybe at RG, Parker Collins, 6'3 290, had offers from Navy, and Southern Miss, that kid plays nasty.

Also the possibility of a transfer.

I wish, but Im not going to hold my breath. Ya'll seem to always find a way to make quite a game of it, Im sure the same will hold true at home in Montana. Last year, I felt like App was on the edge of breaking the game open until Dan Moore went all psycho on our D.

oh har-har. appys defense isn't very good. wgs is a tough place to score. we can win this game, but it won't be easy. not impossible.

No doubt its going to be quite a game, but our D isnt what people make it out to be.

Our DL is going to be insanely deep. Last year our best pass rusher had been moved to LB, he's back at DE. We started against Montana with a RS Fr DE and NT last year. In 2013 we'll be 3 or 4 deep at NT, all in the 300lb range, with real game time under their belts.

Same for the DBs. We had lost 3 starters before the Montana game. Thyre all back healthy, and guys that started last year will back them up.

Biggest bonus may be the new D coordinator. He's done alot with less at Wofford, time to see what he can do with App's level of talent.

uhhh. you quoted me, but that's poorgriz's quote. please fix.

Meant to include your quote as well, just messed up trying to trim some of the excess. I hate quoting the same posts over and over.

Bison used Griz D adjustments for the second half, and owned SHSU in the NC, IMHO.

I seriously doubt NDSU watched Montana game film to figure out how to defend SHSU. NDSU probably has the best defense ever to play at the FCS (or I-AA) level. I hope our coaches watch their game film

2003 Delaware is a tough act to beat.

Pretty sure they still hold the FCS/IAA record for fewest points per game in the regular season and playoffs.

Preseason polls are a joke. The factor which seems to carry the most weight seems to be what a team has done in the past, with no regard for the present. The 2012 Griz rankings are a good example. After the double kick off game last year, the Griz should have been eliminated from any consideration in the polls, due to the BOOB COACHING factor. It takes a very special combination of athletic talent and coaching to go from a perennial winner to 5-6 (the worst record in 27 years) last year. I hope the Griz are not ranked, making future polls take into consideration what the current team has accomplished. At the very least, it will remove the bullseye from the Griz until it is truly earned.

UM will be ranked and will have a good ranking. Most people voting in polls will know JJ is back and much of the team returns, and realize that UM was close in most of the games it lost.

they also realize that the head ball coach is back....and that the dc is back. Top five talented team, can they do anything with it.

And most knowledgeable voters will not view the head coach and DC as negatives at all. Not many teams could have recovered from losing a top-notch qb and having no qb experience on the roster. Of the two notorious calls, the double-kickoff, an admitted dumb mistake, had zero influence on the game (although the bad punt return formation may have). Coaching may not have been perfect last year, but coaching wasn't even one of the top problems.

I am compromising. I think the GRIZ will be ranked between 13 and 18 in preseason polls. Things cannot get worse than last season.

Watch the film and you will change your tune, look for the LB placement. DEAD ON! Anyone That thinks they didn't watch SHSU games Prior to The NC is a crackhead. IIRC the only team to slow Down SHSU prior to The NC was the Griz in the second half. PS- I think there is a bison or two up north if you want to kiss one's A$$!

Wait after seeing this I'm sure SHSU is going to Drop Football and add DANCE! Brian Bell might be Gay.
