Saint Francis who went to the FCS playoffs as recently as 2022 announced they are dropping down in anticipation of the settlement. There are expected to be more defections from the FCS to lower levels.

Why stop there. I believe (with St. Francis) leaving there are now 128 teams left in the FCS. Only about 10 are even relevent. So my wish is that another 118 leave. The Griz and Cats could be left to duke it out with the dakotas and the remaining deserving few. Champion of the league can be FCS champions if that is what they want to call it.

As far as most people are concerned it's all the same if you're not FBS.
