Well, it was interesting ... and the pollsters were one spot "kinder" to the Griz than I was in my guesses. And they did not hammer Cal Poly too much. What's might be most interesting is that St. Francis is now ranked in the top-25.

I am amazed the Griz are still in the top 25. We'll see how we end the season. Could be worse.

I just don't understand the love that SHSU is getting. They've had a cupcake schedule (and dominating it like they should), but I don't see how they are the #1 team. I'd have them at #4 behind JSU, EWU, and NDSU. At #4, they'd be right there with the Citadel who is also 10-0.

I did see that the playoff committee in the second week of releasing their playoff polls did drop SHSU to #5, so it looks like they are looking at their SOS and adjusting as necessary.

I noticed that too -- certainly seems much more realistic.

It’s interesting what the poll says about how people view the various teams (and conferences). Of course, that’s not the same as the playoff selection committee, but the results at least give some hints.

The pollsters and I agreed about moving Wofford into the top-25 after New Hampshire, Harvard and Liberty dropped out. But they were not as generous as I was in where they landed … at #20. Suggests they are not that impressed by the SoCon, which is a good thing for the Griz. The pollsters also agreed in moving North Carolin Central in, but two spots lower than I guessed. So being 8-2 in the MEAC does not mean as much as it might otherwise. The cool thing was how St. Francis moved into the top-25. That can only help the Griz in terms of SOS.
