With seven ranked teams losing on Saturday, we can expect a lot of movement. Of course, some lost to another ranked team so they shouldn’t get killed by the pollsters.

First and foremost, with no one higher ranked than the Griz losing, I don’t see the pollsters giving them much"new" love.
However, at least some voters should be aware that two of Kennesaw State’s wins were against NAIA opponents. That takes a bit of the bloom off their close (“good”) loss to FBS Kent State. So I can see the Griz trading places with them. Might the fact that MSU had to go into overtime to win mean something? Maybe, but “everyone knows” road games are tough, while the Griz were at home.
Most of my other changes were pretty standard. They might cut Illinois State some slack, but I think not much … they were at home and still got stomped. I believe the pollsters will go somewhat easier on YSU because they were on the road and it was a close game.
The question mark, in my mind, is UC-Davis. I hammered them down eleven spots, which is a lot for such a close, last-minute loss. But they have now lost three in a row, including the butt-kicking they got from the Griz. I can easily see them dropping out of the top-25 altogether. (I didn’t do that because a lot of pollsters hate to admit they’ve been wrong … and they’ve been pretty high on Davis right from the pre-season poll.) If Davis does drop out, that would open a spot for Austin Peay or Sam Houston State.
Dumping EWU was an easy call because you just cannot afford to lose when you’re ranked in the twenties to start with. That’s why I see #24 Stony Brook nudged out, even though they took JMU into overtime. Still, it would not surprise me to be wrong about the Seawolves.
Dartmouth and South Carolina State were the top “Other” vote getters in last week’s poll, so I moved them into the two spots opened up. That puts two Ivies in the top-25, which some might debate … but that’s how the votes shape up.
