With only four losses among the ranked teams, we probably won’t see a whole lot of change.

25 Nicholls (8-2) NR
Out: Western Carolina (7-4) [22]
Not only were there only four losses, but only two could be considered upsets: #7 Elon losing to #18 New Hampshire (UNH always tough at home) and #22 Western Carolina losing at home to unranked Mercer. In the other two losses, the higher ranked team won, so “form” held.
In the end, only one slot opened up in the top-25. And, unfortunately, two teams ahead of the Griz in votes also won, so I do not see them moving in. Of the possibilities, I decided an 8-2 record in the Southland looked better than a 9-1 in the Big South (Monmouth). Of course, with the East Coast bias we often see in the polls, I could have that wrong. We’ll see.
The Griz have a lot of company at 7-3, including six ranked teams … plus seven other unranked ones. As we all knew, next week will be crucial.
