Well done by Jim. He knows as well as anyone that there is no status quo. Doing nothing is slowly slipping down, a process that has been going on for several years now. UM would likely fully support a move by FCS to reduce FB schollies, in fact, Dennison led a push 20 years ago to reduce BSC schollies to 47, a move that convinced BSU and Idaho that they needed to leave. Even the BSC thought better of the idea eventually so it never happened then. It could easily happen now. DII schollie level is 36, so FCS would then be far closer to DII than to FBS. In fact, why would there even be a reason to segregate DII and FCS with such a little difference? I hope UM admin and the BOR recognize that it is highly improbable that UM could maintain its unusually high revernue stream from FB with such a downward move. Especially since that move would encourage many more of the top FCS programs to bolt. They can't have it both ways.
