Not many upsets to work with … I even wondered if it would be worth the trouble. Then came the (relatively) late overtime shocker at Youngstown State. Yes, it was close, but the Penguins still have a big-time losing record. On the other hand, I don’t see South Dakota losing much ground.

With another overtime final in the Missouri Valley, I do not see South Dakota dropping that much. In fact, it’s only their two-loss record that led me to put them below UC Davis. I don’t see the pollsters dropping them enough to make a difference for the Griz. North Dakota, however, got pounded by a really bad Youngstown State (3-6) team … they’ll be lucky if they don’t drop even more than my guess. In any case, this should allow several teams, including the Griz, to move up a spot.
The next ranked team loss was William & Mary, beaten soundly by unranked Stony Brook So I did something we seldom see, but I think might happen this time around. The Seawolves have a solid record and have been just out of the Top-25 for some time now. I’m guessing the pollsters could drop W&M a bunch … and actually move Stony in just above them.
Sitting barely inside the Top-25, I see the Catamounts dropping out. Since I’ve already conceded a spot to Stony Brook, no one else will move up. If that doesn’t happen, then UT Martin could make it into the Top-25.
