FCS Game of the week

Sac going to the Tater Palace has to be the game to watch not only in the big sky but in the FCS this week. Sac coming off a huge win against Stanford and their former head coach, while the spuds were up 17-0 over Cal before they let that one slip away. Is Sac for real this year? I think this game goes a long way in finding that out.

Spuds-49
Sac-43

Should be a high scoring game but Idaho pulls it off at home.

Is SAC for real THIS year? I think it's a pretty safe bet to say they are. Haven't they won or shared the Big Sky for like three years in a row? I think they've lost maybe one league game in 3 or 4 years? griz haven't beat them in a long time, etc. Ya, they're good.

No duh they've BEEN good. But losing who has been the best coach in the Big Sky along with your two quaterbacks and two best offensive weapons in Scataboo and Pierre Williams leaves some question marks whether they are going to continue to win the conference at the rate they were or if this year is going to be a step back.

Gotchya, I see your point. Yep, a step back it possible but from the early look I don't think that's happening. Ya, Stanford isn't Georgia this year....... but it's still Stanford. We'll see. Lots of MSU fans thought Cats might take a step back when Choate bolted and we lost a bunch of talent. Cats were BETTER the following year.

I see no scenario with a running clock and UI's grind-it-out offense that 92 points are scored in this game. Whoever wins I'd say it's more like 28-24 or 28-21.

People see the ESPN replays of McCoy to Hatten and assume Idaho wants to air it out. Their offense is a lot like MSU. They want to play ball in the trenches and grind you down. But they still have big play potential. As does SS. So a game in the high 30’s is very possible, but 40’s would be tough.

Stick to the topic. None of this has to do with the Cats.

yep. What ESPN doesn't show is that play is at the end of a 7 minute, 16 play drive.

Perfect example: Against Ferris, they got the ball with 1:32 left in the third quarter. Montana's FIRST possession of the 4th quarter started with 8:57 left in the game.
