60% of the guns recovered in Chicago are traced to other states like Indiana, Mississippi, and Wisconsin where there are no background checks. There are three gun shops in surrounding communities that are primary problem points, hardly every community surrounding. Too easy for someone with cash to get their hands on a gun.
I believe here are background checks in every transaction unless it is a private to private sale. Whether or not they actually pursue them I don't know. You would have to ask the government.
