Fans, Police One Another

Griz fans,

Just a reminder to help police and control those few of us who may want to be anything other than welcoming and hospitable to our App guests. Anyone that was in Boone last year and experienced the graciousness of App fans know we owe at least the same to them as they visit Missoula. If you weren't there, I can honestly say that the App fans could not have been nicer.

Let's show 'em the way it's done in the West: Shake their hand, welcome them to Montana, buy 'em a beer and talk football. After all, that's the way it should be with fans of the two best programs in FCS history.

We were in Boone for that game and will never forget the gracious reception Griz players and fans got...tons of "good lucks" on Friday night, and after the game, waiting for our players to come out of the locker room...countless Mountaineers fans came out of their way to congratulate us on a hard-fought battle, can't remember how many times we heard "good game, it could have gone either way". I really hope we represent Griz Nation as classy and gracious as the App State fans. (Always hate it when the crowd boos the opponent when they come out!)

You have to figure there's always a knucklehead in the crowd somewhere (could be wearing Maroon and Silver or Black and Gold) but I'm pretty confident that both sides will enjoy the festivities, the town and the football game and each other.

Their time here will be enjoyable, fun, and exciting...

I was in Boone for the game last year as well and as all the posters have said, I've never seen such terrific hospitality and class from an opponent. Just one fine bunch of folks. Let's show 'em we are at least equal to that. I know I can't wait to swap stories and cold brews with them! :clap: :thumb:
