Finally got a chance to listen to the “Get to Know ______” sounds bites from the Sports Info Director on all the new recruits. Glad they do this as it gives you some insights in the latest Griz, why they chose UM, what they plan to study, what they like to do in their free time, etc.

An very-apparent theme in all these interviews is that our fans, our facilities, and our coaches played major roles in kids choosing to come here. A lot of these kids had offers and were getting the full court press from rival schools like EWU, MSU, and Idaho but they chose to be a Griz.

Many said when they got to come to a game, they were blown away by the stadium and fans and that sealed the deal for a lot of them. Others said the Griz coaching staff impressed them over others and won them over. Some stated they felt “wanted” and the Griz coaches were checking in constantly. And others said the overall facilities (Champion Center, stadium, academic center, etc) as well as atmosphere are the best in the Big Sky so it was easy for them to choose the Griz.

Pretty cool to see the new coaching staff, new facilities, and our crazy fans making a direct impact to the kids who show up at UM. Go Griz!

Well they definitely aren't going to say they went to um for academic reasons. :thumb:

They have been packing that sucker full for decades even in recent years when the team was not very good. Montana fans STILL came and supported them. Wonder what the signees from some of the other schools you mention said in their interviews?

Probably......"The fans, facilities and coaches didn't really impress me much but I decided to come here anyway."

The kids that chose EWU probably talked about being a part of a winning program and the opportunity to play for national championships.

They probably actually said they like the ability to pay right away, and the zero expectation to make grades, giving them the opportunity to focus only on football. Not worrying about classes is probably a huge appeal.
